When you limit it to conference games only (take out the cupcakes) LSU was 6th in total offense in the SEC. Worse, they were 5th in the SEC west. If your quarterbacks are only completing half of their passes you don't have a good offense, no matter how great your running back is.

I actually hate Miles, but I would say last 4 hires. On the surface, Juluke was the exact guy we wanted to replace Frank Wilson. I don't know if he'll be able to dominate NOLA recruiting, but at the time - he was the perfect hire.

Agreed...I live in reality...and we have what we have right now...why not just for now be positive on the changes that we can be confident in...and I agree with many that "the hot seat" got CLM attention and help get his mind rightly focused...I'm really optimistic. about Lawrence and Alexander coming in and bolstering the middle of the defense...I'm going to be happy about the future until proven wrong...

Neither is Shorty imho...he's just a better recruiter to his system...mainly as to the DL personnel...but we have remedied that problem I think...the future is looking much better...

I'll just go ahead and stop you right there.

LINK

5th in the SEC (vs. SEC only) in points per game at 26.5 which 4th was at 31.2, so we were quite far behind...and 26.5 is pretty mediocre

LINK

That's 6th in all games.

Its fricking laughable that posters like you do nothing to make lsu football a better program yet you sit back and decide what level of success you'll accept.
We finished top 15 3 of the last 5 seasons and top 20 in 4 of the last 5 seasons.
Our last 5 seasons under Miles have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure.
You are probably one of those posters that love to tout how deep and superior the sec is to other conferences and then you bitch whe lsu doesnt win the west with a bunch of true freshman and true sophomores.

I love how you have to have qualifiers for the stats to be in your favor.
Not all conf schedules are created equally. Bottom line is lsu finished 4th in offensive yards per game and 3rd in offensive points per game.

Yup THAT offense that bogged down against Bama ,Ole Miss and Arkie... Yup That's the one.............

Did you just start watching sports? When an offense plays decent teams they produce less.
And for the record we had 508 yards of offense against ole miss.

Downvote all you want. Its fact.

You guys love Miles more than LSU, it's been very clear since 2011 Miles is not a great coach.

His legacy was built on better talent.

Not like guys like Saban and Urban Meyer who have to turn walk ons and 2*s into championship caliber athletes, right? They rarely rely on athletes with superior talent.

Better win loss than Saban's tenure. 2nd most wins in the sec over the last 5 years.

These are facts. Stating facts doesnt mean i love miles. It reality.

You mean like every successful coach in cfb?

And for the record i wanted miles gone if it meant we were getting Jimbo.

The real problem is we have an ignorant and entitled portion of lsu fans that dont know shite about cfb or how hard it is to win just 9 games every year let alone finish top 15.

From 2009-2013 only 4 programs out of 126 were able to win at least 9 games every year and lsu was one of them.

Exactly. Hell the best coach in modern cfb (saban)with by far the most talent ( 5 of the last 6 classes were#1 and the talent gap between bama and lsu is bigger than the gap between lsu and ole miss) loses to an inferior team every single year.

If some want to criticize Les's offense then there's a place to do it like here.

But this thread was about celebrating the recent AC hires. And in all four (Juluke should be included), Les stepped up and hit it out the park. Gone!

And if you want to discredit Les for 'winning with talent' what do you want him to do? Turn down good talent? Whatever you think about his O Les is a recruiting machine. And the recent AC hires are only going to improve this (ok, maybe Juluke won't be better than Frank but I don't expect much of a drop off).

Props to Les on the AC hires and the recruiting classes and here's hoping for a better O in '16.

You're comparing stats within the SEC then why not compare them WITHIN the SEC. Conference schedules aren't all equal, but they're certainly more equal than OOC schedules, especially within a division. Like, your argument is that conference schedules aren't all equal so we should include non-conference schedules too and make it even more unequal for....reasons?

Funny how that "not a great coach" has earned the #2 record for wins in big boy college football for the past 11 season while competing in the strongest division of the strongest conference in college football.

The disrespect dished out to the most productive coach in LSU football history by "LSU fans" shows the LSU fan retard level.

The offense that couldn't do shite against teams that could man up physically. Yeah that one.
