If they truly feel this way then Iowa wins by 3-4 TDs.
If LSU gets similar output out of the QB position that it got all season (no guarantee I know), what do you think the score will be? This is not a rhetorical question. I'd like to hear your response.
I'm not super confident in this game because any time you start a young inexperienced QB, the offense could literally come to a grinding halt.
Having said that, if Jennings is prepared and plays well, LSU wins this one going away. I don't think anyone who is reasonable could make a different prediction. LSU would have to lay a huge egg (I've watched enough football to recognize this as a possibility).
But, if we are talking about matchups, on paper, comparing the seasons of both teams, no reasonable person could predict an Iowa win without a poor performance at QB.
I honestly think that 9...maybe 10 SEC teams would beat Iowa on an average day. Could LSU play to that level? Sure. But, if both teams play up to their potential, this one is easy to predict.
Iowa will probably run the ball fairly effectively. How much offense LSU is able to put together is unknown. A Mettenberger led offense would have pretty much been a guarantee to score 35+ with a real shot of going well over 40. Who knows what we'll score now. If we only score 20, it will be close.

Iowa's defense is going to struggle against the LSU O. If Iowa plays deep zone to keep Beckam and Landry from burning them then LSU's run game is going to run wild. Iowa is going to have to put 8 in the box to try to stop LSU's run game but LSU will still pick up yards. If the Hawkeyes put 8 in the box Landry and Beckam will go nuts. Fact is LSU's O is a nightmare matchup for Iowa's D.

I'd call it pretty much even-up. We tend to handle drop back passers better than true dual threats. I really feel bad for the guy as he had played his way into a lot of money. Hopefully he has a good recovery and can work his way onto a roster. Heck of a year for him.

My Final Take
What does the word "final" mean in Iowa? How many "final takes" are you going to have?

Mettenberger will still get drafted, no question..but it did cost him money no doubt.
I would love him on my team in the NFL, his whole game is NFL level, now you're getting him with a medical discount and basically give him a redshirt rookie year with most NFL QBs are forced to take anyway.

Jesus Christ. This has to be a troll.

I'm really not sure why you're here. People that are being reasonable are highlighting strengths for us and weaknesses for you and you continually minimize LSU's strengths, highlight our weaknesses, hype up Iowa, and talk about how unintelligent and uniformed we are. You aren't going to see eye to eye with very many people here, and that's evidenced by your score prediction.

What makes you so sure????
Ok Iowa plays in the Big Ten.. They lost to every ranked team they played this year.. They are slow.

. I do know where LSU has been and I also know that you aren't nearly as good this year
Based on what???? Ok[again] Who plays in a tougher conference?? LSU or Iowa???

Well, one. Since it was the last thread I'll start.

BrewHawk, I am not expecting Iowa to win. I've watched enough football this fall outside of Iowa and I can see that there is room for improvement. Iowa had a season to be proud of. They exceeded everyone's expecations and they ended the season hot with wonderful wins. At the same time, this offense struggles with the game within the game - just getting first downs. They don't score very many points, it takes a lot of plays to get first downs and a lot of plays to score TDs. Iowa is a good 8-4 team.

Absolutely. Will you come back to eat your crow? Doubt it.

Look I understand Iowa is in the legends division . I also understand how great they are . We are just humble tiger fans hoping to give the fierce hawkeyes a good game . Maybe , just maybe , we can give a great game like northwestern state did . Hahahaha northwestern state . Great OT win . The Iowa hawkeyes are truly in the legends division for a reason .

According to Brewhawk:
We lose by 2 scores with it having a chance to get real ugly and can lose by 3-4 TD's if Jennings doesn't play well.
If we get the same offensive output from Jennings as we would from Mettenberger, it makes it an even game.
Our running game will be limited even when they go 2-deep zone.
We are biased and self-absorbed but he is rational in his thought process.

1. Because you don't have Mettenberger. Iowa will make the true frosh beat them in his first start.
2. Iowa's defensive game plan is to make a team one dimensional. You'll be forced to beat us through the air.
3. Our LBs can run and the DL HAS played well enough to allow them to make plays.
