Good breakdown. I think 3rd base is our biggest weakness. Brasswell is shaky at the plate and in the field. Reeves can hit, but is not very good defensively.
Shores fastball had no movement today and SHST was all over it. Bullpen has plenty of depth, but we need to limit walks.
We have the talent to win it all and I trust Jay to figure out everyone’s role. I wish we had another 15-20 HR guy to bolster the power in the lineup b/c the teams that make it to Omaha typically have good power numbers.

Yep, tommy was elite defensively. Im not too worried about 3rd. Braswell will come around offensively

Yea Tommy really made strides last year in his defense.

I’m not worried about Braswell the plate. He has been around long enough

My biggest wish for us is a dominant starter on the mound. Hope anderson or shores can become that. I know you can win without it, its just harder. I like all 3 of our starters, just not sire any are elite. Hopefully shores can become that

Braswell has been asked to bunt in half of his AB

I think Kade can become that Friday Ace and Shores the power Saturday guy

One benefit of keeping Shores on Sunday is forcing opposing hitters into having to adapt more.

Kade and Shores are both hard throwers. Having Eyanson break it up with slow curves is a nice change up.

It’s a small thing but I think this has just as much to do with their current order as Eyanson “outperforming” Shores.

I think the bullpen will be ok by the time SEC play rolls around because you’ll add Ware from the left side and Schmidt & Guidry from the right side most likely.

I do agree there are still concerns about the consistency of the offense, but I feel a little better about it coming together, especially when I look around the league.

I’m encouraged by Dickinson, he is a little pull-happy but he has barreled more balls than anyone. Curiel has started well but there have been ABs that make you wonder how he’ll adjust to SEC arms. It’s logical he’ll regress some but how much?

Jones is Jones and I really hope Jake Brown can be the guy to protect him eventually. I think Jake has some of the most upside in the batting order and I think he can hit 15 bombs this year. Larson struggles against lefties but he’s still one of our best bats. Milam is Milam. Now Pearson is emerging as a breakout candidate after being a career .250 hitter which is great to see.

I still worry about Stanfields bat and wonder if he’ll have to be a platoon guy with Curiel in CF. I like Hernandez. He could hit 10 bombs and has looked like a competent veteran at the bottom of the order. Braswell is streaky with a flawed swing but he’s also a vet who’s come up big in high leverage games. We have has worse at the bottom of the order.

Over all a good assessment. My take is I am a little concerned with our starting pitching I am not sure we are elite there but I know it is early. Moving Ware and Schmidt to more important weekend arms and getting Guidry back should help solidify our bullpen.Evans has been spectacular in his role. Rizzy has not looked as good with command as of late.

Hitting and defense have been very good. I personally like Reeves because he is left handed, can hit and has speed. I would like to see John and Tanner get more run at third. Hernandez to me is your best catcher overall. Cade has more upside but right now is a defensive liability IMO and not ready to assume the top spot.

I still don't know what to make of our bullpen outside of Evans and Rizy

If you count Ware and Schmidt into the SEC weekend bullpen then it makes the pen much deeper. Right now I think they are getting midweek starts mainly in case we need to replace a weekend arm. But in a few weeks I think between Eaynson, Shores, Ware and Schmidt you have two starters and two inning eaters for the weekend. Right now he's just trying to figure out who else will be most dependable.

And OP, solid analysis. Hard to argue anything really. I do, however, like Hernandez slightly more at catcher right now. I think they keep splitting time though, with Arambede maybe improving throughout the year and taking on a larger role.

How? We had like over 30 hits in the last two games combined

There really is no point in taking anything that guy says seriously. He has proven about a million times that he is clueless.

While it seems like a 2 horse race for PT, I just can’t get over John Pearson. He seems to hit everything hard. Wouldn’t shock me if he earns some PT somewhere down the line.

Glad this was included.

Man Tommy White should've earned some more respect with his defense last year

Only thing i disagreed with too. White was as good defensively last year as he was offensively. He made some highlight reel plays at 3rd.

You’re using the number 30 wrong in this case.

30 games against SEC arms is what I worry about

Ok,how does that have anything to do with how consistent the offense has been so far? We've hit in every game besides 1 so far. You were saying we haven't been consistent so far, you weren't talking about anything you're predicting to happen

I think we actually have 2-3 guys in this line up that will be 10-15 home run type guys.
I’m talking guys that nobody is expecting

Why would you say that? We have a lot of talent.

Did you see AnM this week? Who are the 8 teams you can’t see us competing with?

He's a troll.
