Top 10 ranked program reeling in top 10 recruiting classes year after year in talent flooded LA, starting off with a win on the road against a UW.

I think your general outlook on LSU must have more to do with your personality and your view of your own self which you translate to your so called favorite team. Thats my pseudo psychological explanation for your wretched post.

I don't know what world you live in, but it only takes about 2 bad seasons, 8-5 for example, which is not a really good season until the big time 5* players don't want to come to your school anymore, even the ones that live in your home state.

Here's an example:

1985 9-2-1
1986 9-3
1987 10-1-1
1988 8-4
1989 4-7
1990 5-6

That didn't take long!

An how many state titles is it that the Woodlands has won over the past 11 years that Katy has racked up 5 titles?

Oh yeah - that would be none.............

We'll trounce Vandy to the score of 42-10 and then we'll see who is whining

I don't think anybody is ok with last year. Not even me. I'm not ok with the way LSU played on Sat. But I am not jumping off or "mourning" the end of an era for LSU just yet. I'm not trying to stick out my chest and say I'm better than anybody for having endured the worst era of LSU ever, but I will say it hardened me just a bit. And because people like me are hardened having endured those times, we have no patience or sympathy for anybody that whines about what's going on today, no matter how much money is pumped in. By the way, TAF started toward the tail end of that horrible era.

Why would you be fine with that when the last 8 years have proven that LSU should be a top 10 team more times than not?

I would be fine with it because it would mean great football games in Tiger Stadium and great tailgating every year. My love for the Tigers is not directly correlated with their ranking in the polls.

Consistent top 20 team = good team. Bottom line. Plus I think some of these rats would jump ship and that makes me happy.

Arnsparger and Archer sucked at recruiting, which is what we can infer from your post.

It would be very easy for LSU to maintain its elite status. It would only take one move.

I call BS on Miles saving the program by running Perriloux!

Fact is RP was a problem because of Miles complete lack of discipline! The situation finally got out of hand to the point he had to run him.

If Little Nicky had still been here, he would have crushed RP at the 1st sign of trouble and show him who is in charge!

In fact, if Saban's here there's a descent chance RP is still on the team and last year never happens! God knows the D would have been better!

I'm actually excited about this team... Saturday one game that I thought would be closer. I guess its because I saw the BYU game last year and watched Locker (hell of a QB) on Youtube. And who didn't think a former USC Assistant under Carroll would be able to get his team ready to play.

I think this will be a big boost for the tigers late in the year.
Geaux Tigers.

What a fricking idiot!

Really?

So Saban won every game and never lost one he should have won?

Idiots like you need to be spayed and neutered.

I think the real reason so many LSU fans are upset is that the reality of the end of an era has set in. It really started last year, but now we are all painfully aware of it, and it hurts to realize that our Tigers are no longer the elite team that they were from 2003 - 2007. This period will later be known as the Golden Era of Tiger Football. For just a minute, think about how great that period was:

2003 - 2007

Overall record, including bowls - 56-10
2 National Championships
2 SEC Titles
3 SEC West Titles
4-1 Bowl record
Tons of great athletes and memorable games

2008 - miserable year - 3-5 in the SEC 8-5 overall - half as many losses as the previous 5 years combined

There were high hopes that the hiring of Tonto Chavis, Haley, and Cooper would turn around the slide of the program that started last year, but I just don't see that happening. Saturday night was a rude reminder that LSU is no longer an elite program. Yes, there are still some great skill players, but clearly LSU is no longer a dominant team in the trenches and defensive game planning and calling is a serious issue. It is becoming evident that Miles and his staff can no longer maintain the program at the elite level that it was when they inherited it. You might as well face the facts that at best LSU is a middle of the pack SEC team. Bama is now elite and on the way up to the top and we are on the way down. It was great while it lasted, but is painful watching the slide back downhill.

You are quite simply an IDIOT and "fair weather-fan"!

Too bad you don't know football...Sometimes it's better to keep silent than to open your mouth and remove all doubt of one's ignorance...

If Saban was still here, RP probably would have never come. I think Saban saw the writing on the wall with him from the get go.

YEAH!! RP is doing much better now that he is away from Coach Miles and his tolerant attitude...

and then let him back in to play the 2nd half of a game he was suspended from....

" and memorable games "

yep
do you remember when we needed 2 last second miracles to beat kentucky in back to back years?
or needing 3 missed Xp's to beat oregon state
or letting UAB beat us
or alabama running the same play 12 times in a row and us not stopping it
or running up the gut 3 times in a row with 2 minutes left, allowing ole miss to score before halfitme
or roy williams running wild on our secondary in the cotton bowl
