Do most LSU fans automatically concede that Bama would win a third game? I wouldn't regardless of 1/9. Didn't Bama once beat the baseball team 28-2 only to lose the title to the Tigers in the next game? One may beat Tulane or Rice 100 out of 100 times but against elite teams, each game is unique. The next might the time when Jefferson had his occasional good game. Or seeing the error of his ways in game 2, Miles plays both JJ and Lee. Or... Bama has another "down" game and beats themselves. (smile) How about that third game held in Tiger Stadium since there was one at Bama and another on a neutral site?

According to many in the media, Bama dominated both games. 1/9 Bama gets more credit.

A better question would be who lost more respect? LSU lost all the respect it earned from 11/5 with their sub-par performanace on 1/9. To zero in on the answer respect was lost by LSU coaches - not players. Jefferson sucked and was allowed to play the entire game despite his pitiful effort/performance. Play calling did not help at all. I'm sure Ala. defense had a lot to do with it but it sure appeared like we were getting better and better in game on 11/5 and it looked like we were getting worse and worse on 1/9. Moving on to Nov. 2012! Looking forward to another LSU vs. ALA. epic battle. Geaux Tigers!

Doesn't matter. Take it back with success.

LSU earned a lot of respect on November 5th but I think that most of the country felt that Bama was better than LSU going into the title game so LSU losing wasnt that horrific except for LSU fans like us.

LSU wins again this year at home then wins a national title in Miami...whoo hoo.

bullshite. The way LSU lost was horrific. That junior high school offensive game plan and the fact that not one fricking adjustment was made the entire game was pathetic. Fans of every team I talked to were in disbelief too. It's just that it hurts LSU fans to the core.

HALF the country thought that Okie Lite should have got a shot.

therefore, it was LSU, on 11/05.

You might have had a point if Bama didn't destroy us on 1/9. Since they did, your point is moot and you are a moron.

Was it the LSU win with the SuperBowl buildup for 2 weeks(even the pope was watchin) between LSU and Bama in the very first matchup on 11/05 in front of a more interested audience?

According to the media, this game didn't happen.

Or was it the Alabama win with the seemingly uninterested LSU coaches and team(nation included)on 1/9 in the shutout debacle where we got smashed facefirst into the Superdome Turf??

According to me, this game didn't happen either. You can't call it a game when one team isn't there.

Seriously? Wow.

I think shutting a team out 21-0 in the NC game gets you more respect.

Why was this post necessary?

I think you're trolling but obviously this. Bama was clearly the better team last year

Unfortunately, it was probably more about most respect lost. Bama lost very little in losing a 9-6 OT slugfest, while LSU lost a good bit more (thought still not that much) with the worst offensive performances in BCS title game istory in a 21-0 defeat.

As bad as that game was, LSU scored 500 points on the season (I believe that lead SEC last season), and they had a great year--just a horrible ending.

Alabama earned more respect because of the preparation they put and shutting out the Tigers. There's no doubt that LSU was good, but that game proved the limitations of Jefferson and the run game against a defense similar to their own.
