I'll go ahead and say it:
the fans that held up that stupid civil war sign at the super regionals last year. I don't care what old quote it was referencing, no one outside of tigerdroppings would have gotten it. Everyone just thought it was some extraordinarily ignorant sign making us look like the biggest of all confederate loving rednecks. I can't remember for sure since I was at the game, but I really hope it wasn't shown on tv.
Also, any fan that has a purple/gold confederate flag is just as bad. Like replacing the colors makes ok.
Makes it worse IMO, because it embarrasses every LSU fan.

i'll say this, I totally disagree

The ones who are the worst usually didn't even go to LSU. I've seen guys who went to Tech, or didn't even go to college act like complete asses to other people. Not to mention watching any game with them is absolutely impossible.

Sandberg, I see that you are a Texas fan. The entire Texas fan base is embarrassing. Now go back to your teasip board.

I believe that was in reference to comments made by the UC-Irvine coach prior to the Super Regional. It was fitting and totally in context with his comments.
I have seen many LSU fans at many games.
The most pathetic/embarrassing are those that pick fights with the young and or the elderly. These are obviously folks that know when they can win a fight and when they can't. My suggestion to them would be to yell at those that fit their own demographic. If you are 35 years old, six feet tall, 200 pounds, there is someone out there like you, who loves his team just like you do. Taunt him!! Don't taunt his 75 year old aunt!

After a win over South Carolina here in Baton Rouge while Holtz was there an elderly South Carolina couple was walking back to their car and minding their own business, and some shirtless LSU punk, most likely a student was screaming expletives at them and his friends laughing.
And unfortunately I've seen similar scenes more times than I'd like in and around Tiger Stadium.
I can say I've been to every SEC stadium now, most multiple times and a few OOC stadiums and I've never been treated anywhere nearly as badly as that poor couple.
It was very embarrassing. When I got there the punks were going the other way but I apologized to the couple loudly enough for the punks to here and had they bowed up I have no idea what I would've done...probably have gotten my arse kicked...but it reall was a pathetic scene.

I think you need to take the time to learn the history about things before you make dumbass comments. No I don't have one either.

LSU civil war threads always make for heated one's.
Always get the "southern heritage" crew vs. the "flag symbolizes racism" crew and very little in between.
I think the bottom line is what is the real intent of the folks flying a purple and gold flag?
I tailgate with a guy who flies one and I like the guy all things considered, but I know the guy and I know why he flies it and for that reason it bothers me.
Can't speak for the reasons everyone else does...don't know them. But the dude running in front of the bus with that flag last year....got no use for him.

I knew what it was in reference to. I saw it talked about on here before I saw the sign at the game.

I think we found one of the flag bearers.

This one guy at the Florida game in 2007 wanted to stand in front of his seat, and yell the whole game, especially when LSU was on defense. It was so obnoxious. Tiger Stadium is meant for me to sit and be comfortable, akin to my living room couch. Not for people who want to be loud, make noise, and affect the game's atmosphere. There's a reason that LSU has these rules when no other SEC school feels the need to. People who do this, be on notice that I'll be alerting the Marshalls this year, and I'll make damn sure your season tickets get confiscated.

"People who do this, be on notice that I'll be alerting the Marshalls this year....."
Who gives a frick who you alert?
".....and I'll make sure your season tickets get confinscated."
I doubt that very seriously. Unless your last name is Manship or Pennington, you don't donate enough money to have that kind of clout. You may have to confinscate my foot from your arse first.

Here's my short list:
1) People who put folding chairs in a PUBLIC parking lot to save spaces for their buddies. It's not the same if it's at or by your tailagting area...I'm talking assholes who set up the chairs in the dead middle of a major parking lot on game days, causing traffic jams.
2) People in the lower chairback sections of Tiger Stadium...near the student section. They are assholes because I sat among them for the Ole Miss game this past year. I saw just as many men having conversations as women. That game was not out of hand for some time, but by the middle of the 1st quarter, you'd think so.
