Okay, but he played right field. I had front row seats in the right field bleachers.

Jacques Jones played LF for U$C that regional.

Someone already mentioned this game, but the 1996 Regional Final against Georgia Tech. LSU scored 18 runs in a single half inning. No, that's not a typo. I still have the t-shirt with all the LSU, SEC, and NCAA records they broke in that inning and game. The final score was 29-13.

Most memorable regional moment?
Mike Gillespie the coach of USC nearly came into the stands during the Championship game of 04. I sat in the bleachers right by 3rd base. I think it was a guy named Jay that sat on the top row. Everyone had been giving Gillespie hell but he said something to Gillespie when walking by the fence and Gillespie started walking towards the stands pointing and yelling. Jay was thrown out and may or may not have lost his season tickets. Can't remember all of the details but it was something like that.
Didn't Gillespie also coach Irvine when they came to Baton Rouge? I remember him making some stupid Civil War remark that prompted some enterprising signs in the stands for those games.
Also the year we beat UCLA in the Super and their players ended up tailgating with LSU fans outside the old Alex Box.
The clinching win over USC (12-10 ?).
The last 2 games ever played in the Old Alex Box vs Irvine. I remember since the old AB's SRO section was literally standing in between the bleachers in left field, a lot of people just sat in the aisles of the bleachers, but nobody cared.
It was my privilege to be there for those last 2 games.

Yep. Guys a jackass. That's why I loved beating them so much.
ETA: Though USC did make a mistake firing him.

probably the best regional memory(ies) for me was having my dad check me out of middle school to go to games when it was the old format. great childhood memories!
My dad did this exact same thing with me. We sat on the front row down the third baseline right behind the visiting team's bullpen.
Best was the time when there were a ton of rain delays all weekend and we have a game that lasted til about 1 in the morning one night and then we had to come out and beat South Alabama twice on the Monday and we did. That was one of my favorite baseball weekends ever.

That 94 USC team was talented. They had Aaron Boone and Geoff Jenkins also.

We played USC in the CWS in 98, eight homeruns against them in the first round. Seth Etherton was the starter and the gorilla ball phrase was born.
ETA: I don't remember the incident in question but it must have been 94, 95 was the Rice - CSF regional.

Game against Fullerton we were down 7-0. Hit back to back to back HR's to make it 7-3. Eventually came back and won.
Was that the game when Fullerton intentionally loaded the bases by walking Eddie Furniss to get to some freshman named Brad Cresse, and he hit a fu-cking bomb? I remember Cresse just threw his hands up posing on it, and the umpire had to shove him down the first base line. It was hilarious.

What did the coach say to the fan? Was the fan drunk or just being obnoxious?

Losing to USC twice in a row at the 98 CWS to keep us from trying for the 3-peat still hurts. I seriously doubt that rare air chance will ever come again.

Ainsworth vs ECU. Wasn't it on a Monday bc of rain on sunday and that gave him one more day of rest?
Also in 03 or 04 rooting for Wilmington to knock out Tulane.
