If you want to win a national championship then LSU is the place. Les Miles and Ed Orgeron were able to win one at LSU. A competent coach would have a field day

USC would be easier, but it is getting harder to get recruits with their crappy facilities. UCLA and USC both are way behind the top echelon programs and players want that stuff.

LSU has better facilities and better athletic admin. LSUs BOS is a drawback. USC is an easier path mainly because you don’t have to play Bama every year. The biggest advantage LSU has is recruiting, but with the NIL I have to think USC has much more to offer kids with media exposure. At the end of the day I think they are a lot closer than LSU fans think they are which is unfortunate because with our success and the amount of money we spend it shouldn’t be close at all.

As much as we may not like it, for a coach with no ties to Louisiana or the southeast, USC will alway be more attractive.

Better weather, easier path to success, recruiting ground as good if not better than the south, more reasonably fan base, etc. etc.

And if we are being honest, if you have the type of money major college coaches have, there are few better places to live than SoCal.

I think LSU has more money through TAF but not certain where that stands today

No way. I don’t know specifics but I’d bet USC has much, much deeper pockets than LSU.

You might be surprised

At one time LSU was top 3.

I don’t think USC has been high on the list for many many years

LSU- you control the state in recruiting plus usc isn’t in a great part of town-
Actually it sucks

We need someone with proven ability that can deal with the pressure of the SEC. Maybe just maybe we could even get someone with NFL HC experience. Anyone at this point would be better then the current mess. Geaux fighting tigers

In the new era of NIL, it’s easily USC by a lot.

Not many people on the west coast give a rat's arse about college football.

Well this is the thing people really don’t want to talk about but it’s probably true.

A school like USC could promise insane money to recruits and players to create an ideal spot to coach.

Inn hoping it doesn’t work out that way but little voice in my head saying that’s how things are gonna go

USC is fighting for football attention with UCLA, The Rams and The Chargers. Soccer is also a huge sport in So Cal with two pro teams. Two NBA teams. Two MLB teams. Two NHL teams.

A lot more of those So Cal fans are more concerned with their social media posts at games than actually watching.

Check the attendance at USC games. NEVER SOLD OUT - Not even close.

The Coliseum will always be a multiple sport venue with a track remaining there for potential future Olympics. USC is a nice campus after you get through the war zone from the freeway to the campus gates.

Fickell isn't leaving UC........ The only job he would leave for is Ohio State. He has already turned down offers from Michigan State and 2 SEC schools.

That has nothing to do with which is a better job. Is Tuscaloosa nicer than Berkeley in a vacuum? Nope. Is it a better job? Absolutely
