lot of interesting info in this thread and also a ton of bullshite. I need to try this climb. my climbing window is not getting any bigger (age).

Suprised some on here has been to Mt. Shasta. Family had a cabin on the Sacramento R near Dunsmuir so I have spent many days climbing, hiking, sking, tubing on the mountain. Great memories. And, oh yeah, it is not easy making to the peak of a 15,000-foot mtn, let alone 18,000.

I've tried climbing Shasta twice. Weather stopped us both times. Had a hamburger in Dunsmuir.
