I don't follow the MLB draft much, but it seems like maybe it's been much more kind to LSU this year? Accurate statement?

Things can obviously change and guys can not pan out, but this is the best overall draft outcome Jay has ever had.

I don't know that there's a Schmidt or Curiel type pull out (Nawrocki and Davis certainly could end up like that) but he got more top 150 kids through than ever before.

To give you an idea of how well it went, in other threads there was relief when Santi and Guidry got taken because the numbers would have been too tight. An incredible haul and far better than Jay could have possibly hoped for.

It's been reported that Murphy wanted to sign. I won't pretend to know how much the Nationals can sign him for, but he likely takes a few hundred thousand and begins his professional career.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as he was always a guy that will need reps to reach his true potential. He wouldn't get those as a freshman at LSU.

Yes, great draft for LSU. There was a firm shift in this draft overall where less high school kids were being picked all together.

Now Jay has to keep these guys happy for a year. There isn't much of a path in Y1, but in Y2 a lot of these guys will have the opportunity to start.

It was like a historically great draft for LSU.

I think he signs. He’s a draft eligible Soph. He won’t want to sit a year.

A 2028 outfield of Washington/Davis/Santarelli will feed families. And then they can all come back and do it again in 2029.

Nothing he said indicated he was "connected" lol he and others on twitter made assumptions based on widely known monetary indicators the signees have made in the recent weeks.

So Ruffino is just talking out of his arse again?

Shoot, Santarelli could play 1B & Braun could go into the OF too. He looked passable there

This roster is set up in such a way that we shouldn’t have the every other year issue again.

I'll take the opportunity to mention Luke Tucker again here. He's a ball player.

Tucker could be that sneaky guy like Braun that ends up being a dude. Honestly, I don’t subscribe to the rankings much at all.

i would argue the ‘24 class of Curiel, Arrambide, Schmidt, Evans was just as good if not better. Despite losing studs like griffin, Caminitti, and fountain. But still this is an incredible haul and everyone should be optimistic.

Just what I was coming to post after catching up

This is a foundational step for the program, the bedrock is pretty solid after this draft class!

There should be plenty of competition. We're pretty well loaded right now with good experience from the portal, but if someone stumbles or doesn't live up to it, we'll have a lot of Freshmen talent right behind them (Davis, Washington, Santarelli, and others).

brether, what do you think they mean? lol

Nothing until we get through the next couple weeks. We've seen these types of posts get deleted before.

Now the worst case scenario is still a fantastic haul but I gotta remember 1 of these guys could still sign

and its not like we didnt prove that freshman are capable of making a team better if called upon in certain situations or when portal guys from smaller schools' talent dont translate to the sec . last year we were much better when we played the freshman

I think you are off here. These guys likely have agents that they’ve consulted & the social media is just how they communicate now
