i know one of his brothers, they are great people. his dad would be difficult to convince that it's a good idea to go pro after his junior year.

I would expect Laird back, great speed, below average arm and no power.
He has been a great Tiger and I sure hope he can make it to the bigs.
Not allot of them, but there are a few in the majors similar to Laird, but they have
to hit for a high average and I think he would have to play center. Right fielders
have to have strong arms and left fielders are typically your best hitting worst fielding
outfielder since it it it he easiest to play

he wants his degree but I'm sure there's a number for him and it's not like he comes from a poor family

I always thought he might come back, but knowing this it makes it even more plausible. He's not gonna get that much money and if his family does ok and education is important then he may stay.

What happened to the pitcher from Sulphur who flipped to State then choked against Barbe in the state playoffs?

mainly to his size and speed.

his size? him being 6'2" doesn't really help him given he weighs about 170, has no power, and no arm strength. laird has one thing going for him at the next level and that's his speed. i can't say i'm surprised he hasn't been drafted yet, regardless of where people thought he might go.

Laird will obtain his degree even if he's drafted; easily. If he's drafted I feel sure he goes although I wish he'd stay.

Piatnik would not have gone in 8th if he didn't agree

Laird would be wise to come back and play CF
Chinea may just be ready to go no matter where he goes

Yeah. I've heard on a couple podcasts that he's a bad body, unathletic, lots of holes in the swing, but when he gets ahold of one, it's gone.

But why didn't LSU offer?

I just added him to the OP, he was a late addition...not sure why (supposedly a very easy sign). He's a defensive SS, very poor bat.

JUCO shortstop. Switch hitting contact hitter that started his career at Stetson.

Laird could definitely improve his stock with a solid season in CF. Chinea could do the same behind the plate. We're about midway through 8th round and neither of their names have been called. I could see them both coming back.

Kendrick was signing no matter where he got drafted
He would've signed as a 25th round pick

Is it possible for Laird to put on some more muscle at this point? He seems to have the frame for it but he hasn't done so. I think adding more power and pull ability at the plate is the only way he can up his stock.
