Grab, do you think there are any JUCO guys we might look at to fill the spots of the 1-2 guys we may lose?

Saw a couple of items, which I am too lazy to Google and provide links, to the effect that Cole Freeman could play center field. He apparently has Laird/Stevenson speed.

But he was also a JUCO Golden Glove winner at shortstop, so he might end up winning a job as a middle infielder.

Love the optimism but the Aggies will have just an incredible group.

Lange is the best returning starter in the SEC. Latz was rated more highly until his injury which has been a setback, thus the caveat of if Latz makes a full recovery the Tigers will have the best staff. Poche is a gamer and the McCay is likely headed to BR after declaring he was not signing unless someone gets stupid with late round money. The Tiger bullpen is already better than the Aggies and will only be better next season with that posse of sophomores to be. I'll stick by what I said.

Interesting note - Greg Deichmann is in the Northwoods league and is hitting just .185

there was someone a while back on the RB and maybe even on the rant that was adamant about him being really overrated and a bust coming to LSU

hopefully it's just a big learning curve

Don't forget deichman. He was our highest rated recruit out of high school.

Kolton Kendrick from Oak Forest Academy just got drafted in 8th round, isnt that the dude with big time power committed to SELA?
yeah. My buddy coaches him at Oak Forest. I text him to see what he thinks Kendrick does. Money isn't an issue with him I don't think, but the Twins were one of his top teams

everyone can say that, but when you're 18 years old and someone offers you a sack of money, opinions change

Deichmann really needs to turn it around this summer and fall. Or he won't make it to the spring.

Yeah I hate to say it but he looks like he's totally lost it at the moment.

Foster looked totally lost last year as a junior. Stevenson was atrocious his first season and turned it around.

I hope he can turn it around as well

There are always guys that come in and turn it around, and then there are the Kramer Robertson and Casey Yocums of the world who are doing good getting it past the pitcher's mount. I hope the best for Greg, but I think Foster and Stevenson are more exceptions than anything.

There are rumors out there that Ryan January will not be at LSU no matter where he is drafted. Have heard elsewhere that he has Mac Marshall syndrome and he just wants to major in baseball.

To me Laird is on par or nearly as talented as Stevenson. He's just unable to showoff his speed and diving catch ability as much in RF. Laird's bating average isn't as good, but his obp is 2nd on the team. Dude knows how work a pitch count.

A solid season in CF and at the plate could possibly get him into the 2nd or 3rd round. Those rounds are paying in the 7 figures or damn near.
