Slot is 160K?

But once the draft gets into the fourth round, the money for a senior dips to $50,000-$100,000. As you get closer to the 10th round, the check is somewhere between $1,000 and $5,000.

Quite a hit if he goes around the 10th again next year

IMO Trey Dawson will start at SS from day one. The next Bregman. Play Byrd at 2B. I'm hoping for C/OF Ryan January to play in this class. He's very good. Does anyone have any info on him being drafted yet ?

He certainly could leave but I dont see why Laird would leave for such little money.

It wouldn't be about money, he isn't going to get a big bonus even if he comes back, he is what he is as a prospect. If he wants to give pro ball a serious shot he can go out now, which happens to be when most of the guys he came in with are also leaving, and start working to get where he needs to be as a player.

On the other hand if he is more concerned about getting his degree first and going into business after not spending a great deal of time in the minors, then he will come back.

It just comes down to how seriously he wants to pursue pro ball.

Where was Bregman ranked coming out of high school? Three years of hard work led to $7.5 million. Not bad for a college junior. Lesson to be applied by high school prospects.

I think he ended up around 100ish according to BA but was always a 2-3 round pick on his skill set alone.

Getting McKay will be a huge coop for Dunn, Cole has impressed a ton of people at a few national showcases over the years. It sounds like the LSU coaching staff and his parents had a sit down and their plans for him were laid out. His 6'5 225lb powerful frame sets up well to add velocity and become a dominant starting pitcher, I think he'll push for a closer roll if Latz takes over the Sunday spot.

Gausman, Eades, Nola, Poche, and Lange all seeing significant innings as freshman is starting to sell itself.

Next year's rotation:

Fri - SO. RHP Alex Lange
Sat - JR. LHP Jared Poche
Sun - rFR. LHP Jake Latz or FR. RHP Cole McKay
Closer - Loser of rFR. LHP Jake Latz or FR. RHP Cole McKay

that is a STRONG rotation.... provided we can find some bats, we should be in the same position next year that we are in now.....

IMO,Laird would be a long shot to ever get above AA ball, maybe even A ball. This isn't a knock on him, but just look at some of the guys we've had who have been career journeymen in the minors, many players with far greater upside than Laird. I'm sure he loves baseball, but if we're being completely honest, baseball will just be something he does for a few years before he gets into his real future. From what it sounds like from other posters who know his situation personally, his father seems to see things that way as well

Lange, Poche, Latz, McKay, and Godfrey is ridiculous.

Then you throw in Stallings, Norman, Bain, Bugg, Cartwright, Newman, Reynolds etc...

Unbelievable

I think we'll see Beau Jordan, Fraley, and Ducote with a chance of Mainieri signing a JUCO late OR an infielder sliding over to LF. Not a position to panic but experience will be lacking.

Does anyone know if C/OF Ryan January got drafted ? Ducote, Lochridge, Reid and Dawson are potentially really good bats. The pitching will be sick next year.
