Jay letting him finish 4 for his confidence.

It’s the 4 free passes that hurt. And he’s run up the count a number of other times, which lets the hitter try to time hit FB with 3 balls on. He’s made some improvements since last year but is still pitching like nuke laloosh

Weird it isnt doing that for me

If WS can cut down on his walks and just get ahead in counts he's gonna be very good.

He's 5'8 just like Zach Yorke is 295

Nice bounce-back inning for Schmidt. Not perfect, but he got the 1-2-3 and dug out of a hole the last two counts rather than giving up walks.

3 more strikeouts for a series record as a team. All but guaranteed with 5 to go.

Last season we saw some elite middle infield play. Some immaculate double plays turned.
Hope to see the same this year

Damn, didn't realize that. That's pretty short for a pitcher.
Now, I'm wondering who the shortest pitcher LSU has ever had.

9Ks for Schmidt. He looked much better that inning. Does he come back out for inning 5?

Might only be 3 to go.

But it busted your hot take. WTH is Jay thinking?

We have a lot of guys in the pen who still need some work, so probably not.

I think he does with someone else ready to go if needed

It’s more than that. His location on all pitches isn’t great. He gets swing and miss on the FB because it’s fast. Not many hitters are fooled by the offspeed. They lay off. And he doesn’t hit spots with the FB as well as he should.
He could walk 3 in a row. He could K 9 in a row. But who do you get and when? We are too deep at pitcher to wait for him to figure it out when he’s grown up.

He's at 80 pitches. I say let him come back out for one more.

Jay is right to do it. His pitch total is the most of any starter this weekend. You think it’s because he pitched well?

Most definitely
For confidence I should add
