OU defense is 10 times more talented and have a DC that’s been there for years now. Who happens to be a really good DC.
Their offense was down their top 5 receivers…

Allen is a very good runner as well. LSU will be lucky to beat OU.

Yeah. Somebody (OU) finally realized Milroe wasn’t gonna beat many teams with just his arm so they just decided to box him and dared him to beat them throwing the ball. Great to have a QB who can run it but he better be able to sling it effectively or DCs (especially NFL DCs) will easily stop him at the next level.

It’s incredible frustrating how LSU can’t game plan against Bama even when they’re a bad football team.

And with 2 weeks to prepare, no less.

Exactly! One it's personal and losing recruiting battles in the portal and on the HS level.
Secondly it's the DC! I'm not sold on Baker as a DC yet, maybe I'm wrong. But what has he done as a DC to warrent him elite or even great? Great LB coach etc. But unproven as a DC. Half the guys playing should've been benched for lack of effort alone. If every hat isn't getting to the ball every play until the whistle blows GTFO the field. At least have a swarming defense. The lack of effort and hustle makes me sick with some of these players. Playoffs are out of the picture play the young guys and get them experience.

That was a corner not a safety. It was actually supposed be our best corner who had deep 3rd responsibility and got caught looking in the backfield.

I still just don't understand how Milroe looks like a damn statue for 85% of the season, and then chooses our game and maybe 2 others where he takes off running. it just blows my mind. How tf are we unable to defend him when many far shittier teams can?

He has run* for 791 yds and 17 TDs because 790 of the yards were against us.

Oklahoma defense didn't run themselves out of plays overpursuing , had great gap discipline and their players can tackle.
Everything you say is true! LSUs defense over pursued him giving him wide open lanes to run through. Once he gets out in the open he's hard to catch and tackle, and as you also said LSU defense can't tackle. So, it was off to the races for Milroe against a woeful LSU defense.

But the key to stopping him was not to over pursue him, stay disciplined and stay in your lane giving him nowhere to run. Keep pushing the OLine back into his face with the outside cut off by your DEs. In essense your basically bottling him up by doing all of this. Also, blitz him on top of all of this, so you can get to him faster, but you just blitz him on occasions. The main thing is keeping him in the pocket, giving him nowhere to run, forcing him to pass or get sacked eventually.

But LSU doesn't have the kind of athletes to do this right now, but they will with the next recruiting class coming in.

I sat in the endzone for the game, so had a perfect north/south view of the action. On his long runs (several for TD), it seemed literally to just be once he passed the line, there was nobody for miles. Has to be the easiest time he ever had as a college player.

My favorite was watching the LBs and Ss on replay just ole him right by. They didn't even try to tackle him.

That pick six is still one of the absolute worst pick sixes I have ever seen from a QB. It wasn't even close to being open. Idk what he was looking at.

Going into last year the case was the same. Stop Milroe from running and you win. So both years he scores running at will. Crazy. Some staffs stick with procedural game-plans and some coaches game plans to teams strengths and weaknesses. Saban was a master of attacking strengths and weaknesses.
