re: Milroe stats from last night underscore the truly dismal coaching against Bama 2 weeks ago

Oklahoma defense didn't run themselves out of plays overpursuing, had great gap discipline and their players can tackle. All things our defense doesn't do well. In fact are horrible at.
Our safeties are horrible. They were no where to be found one Milroe broke through the line of scrimmage.
The whole year the safeties are out of the play. Its always a linebacker or DL trailing the play making a tackle. The first play from Vanderbilt the LSU safety jumped towards the line of scrimmage and the WR ran past him. It was obvious he had over the top coverage. I don't know if that is coaching or just sucky play.

SEVEN YARDS RUSHING
11 of 26 for 164 yards passing.
he only threw for 109 on us... Ran for 190 though.
I saw a few highlight plays and OU ran at least one spy and maybe two from the LB spots on Milroe.

If it was so simple, why did he also shred UGA (both on the ground and through the air, by the way)?
UGA had a lot of early mistakes that let things get out of hand early

You could put Alabama jerseys on an 8th grade football team and they’d still probably go out there and beat LSU.

Bro you're comparing a game from September and late November. There's a ton of game film at this point. Oklahoma had a great gameplan. BK & Baker shite the bed.
LSU defense after the half in College Station was completely dominated and had no answer for the backup QB.
CBK & Baker had two weeks to prepare for Milroe and apparently were not interested in competing at all.
who knows what the Tigers will bring come game time next week.

So freaking obvious against this guy: stack the box, force him to pass.
That’s why I LOL every time they say Milroe is a top NFL QB prospect

Make no mistake…..this LSU team has been a shitshow. O Aline vastly underperforming…..no running game…..but the biggest turd in the punch bowl was having 2 weeks to prepare for Milroy….who ran over us in 2023…..so he does it again in 2024….Kelly should give back at least 5 million ……..the man does not care.

OU defense is much better and more physical than LSU

I approve and agree with this message.

Absolutely agree. Milroe basically scored on the same play four times in this one game against us. Terrible Preparation for what was to come

College football is so watered down. Bad product

I have been pretty disappointed in baker lately.
He had a horrible game plan against bama
His defense has been pretty vanilla and easy to figure out.

Had nothing to do with prep or coaching, a running quarterback puts a lot of pressure on our safety group of Gilbert, Ryan, and Burns to make good reads and tackle well in the open field.
More often than not, they can't do either.
There's no gameplan in the world that can "fix" that.

he did the first half...they turned it around in the second half...and Ga isn't the same Ga. Milroe is not good. If a defense can shut down him running, you will beat bama because he is not a good passer.

Milroe has looked exceptional as a passer at times, he's just inconsistent.
The dude inexplicably looks like a Heisman candidate one week and can't move the chains the next, Alabama fans are constantly angry over this.
Sometimes, he'll have a half where he's totally on, another where he's totally off. It's really something to see.

No reason to hate them, coaches get far too much of the blame when things are bad and far too much of the credit when things are good.

nowhere close to that. I have a Alabama Graduate that works for me, that also played ball. He cannot stand Milroe, even after our game. He says any pressure at all, and Milroe folds. Again, shut down his running, and you shut down Bama.

I don't know if that's really true, he has games where he's been prolific as a passer when he didn't do much on the ground. They lost vs Vandy but this was an example, he threw for 310 yards and only ran for 10.
Like any quarterback, he gets into trouble when he starts turning the ball over too much.
