Bama will not be able to stop LSU without bringing the extra man up in the box. They are not foolish enough to do that all the time and allow us to maul them deep. So Bama will play cat and mouse with their extra safety. We will never know if the safety is dropping after the snap, or if he's crashing down.

Bama will hope to stop us for no gain on first down every other time. Then they'll drop two safeties deep and count on their regular guys to stop us from gaining 10 yards on two rushes.

LSU should mix up their personnel and formations to make this very difficult on Bama.

The only game I've seen LSU not be able to run on bama was the 2011 title game even the regular season game we ran ok. With the line, backs and offense period we have they shouldn't be able to shut it down and if they slow it down we should be able to attack the weak spot they leave. I'm pretty darn sure LSU will be up for this game and I'm sure they know this is the year to beat bama starting this year. Don't make silly mistakes and don't TO the ball and we win. If I'm the coaches I'm telling these boys not to leave any question on penalties don't even come close to committing them. Especially if you are no where near the ball or action. Make your block and if he gets away from you give him one more shove and let it go. I think LF is going to put a show on for everyone that night. If for only this game he needs to turn it up and play out of his mind actually the whole team needs to play like this. Beat them and leave no question that we are the best team in the league and country. GT

Yes. The real question is can LSU stop Bamas passing? Kitten uses creative formations to create mismatches.

it will be tough early but if we can force some 3 and outs and sustain a few drives early hopefully we can make their arse quit

Going to need a passing threat to open up the run. I suspect Saban will force Harris to beat him in the first half which is a fair approach.

As "Penrod" mentioned, Bama or anyone else we need more than a front 7 to stop our run game. However, BH will have to get the ball out of his hands a lot quicker to keep Bama honest..Smart/Saban will send an 8th man on both pass and run blitz situations all game long... We will run the ball successfully but it will be a slugfest...

LSU had 183 yards rushing vs. Bama last year and this year LSU is leaps and bounds better. Of course, Bama is better also but I can't imagine LSU not being able to run looking at past contests.

LF may get 100 yards, but he won't average 6 ypc

Any chance we see some option?

I think it depends on where you try to run.

If it's up the middle, then no..you wont run on us. Didn't last year and won't this year. One of our defensive tackles had 15 stops in the lsu game a year ago, he'll suit up again next Saturday. You have a fine offensive line and a magnificent running back. In all liklihood though, Alabama has two defensive tackles that will be drafted in the first round this spring.

If lsu plans to attack the edges in the run game, then yes I think they can have success. The inside "triangle" (DT, DT, MLB) features 3 first round draft picks. Running up the middle, even with Fournette, will be a tall task

I think this is going to be a fairly low scoring game. Both defense tighten up as the other gets closer to the redzone. We have an excellent field goal kicker and they don't. Also, from what I have seen, Bama D is slow sideline to sideline, so we will probably have some success with LF7 bouncing it outside - but that is going to require some excellent downfield blocking which we have shown we can do with our WR and TE. I am not impressed with Henry - he seems to go down at first contact most of the time, but he will get his. Coker is not a good QB, but he has great receivers.

LSU 23
Bama 17

Guice and Fournette will combine to catch at least seven passes. That will be the biggest variation in the game plan this week. Yes, secret playbook.

Once the d-line is worn down a little, (all 8 of them), LF will be beating the LBs to the corner all night.

For comparison, Tenn ran for 254 on Florida. They ran for 132 on Alabama.

don't make the same mistake some people make when observing fournette. - "why, he gets these big holes to run through." Yeah, and why is that? henry does the same thing, but do you notice, nobody else on the team gets that. that is because the runner's vision and instincts are really good.

I wasn't giving henry enough credit either.

fournette has more moves, but make no mistake that henry is a good back. it's true that if you catch him in the backfield or on the line he will not move forward like fournette, but he is very good.

You're better than using the transitive property... Unless you want to discuss uf vs ole miss and subsequently lsu v uf and Bama v ole miss.

A friend of mine said he thought Bama gears up to stop 'Fournette and someone like Guice has a big game
Michel definitely seemed to have more room to run than Chubb. He still had to work, but it looked like Alabama would gear up when Chubb was in the game.

Yes LF will and so will BH, Bama struggles with a mobile QB!
