Either way it had to be early in the process since Miles was fired a few weeks into his junior season. He didn’t even commit to Florida until 10 months later.

I have no position. Trust me, I am no Lester fan but all he said was Chase was not open to playing DB which, from that article, is correct. You and the other cat are arguing that it was Chase that was open to it like the person narrating the article was Chase. It was his dad. Shame on you for making me agree with LE. I feel dirty now.

Article lifted verbatim from behind a pay wall from the Athletic. Sports writers trying to make a living probably not loving their work is taken and pasted in free forums, and I doubt Chicken would be cool with that, either.

It’s not that huge of a deal other than the fact that Miles still did not offer him a scholarship that day as a WR lol.

I love Chase and, like everyone else I’m sure, I’m ecstatic that he wound up at LSU.

That said, walking out of drills without a word at a camp because you don’t like the idea of a new position, after agreeing to try it out, isn’t going to earn you a scholarship offer that day.

Don’t let common sense get in the way of your ego stroking though.

I'm sure this happens all the time. Look at Marshall Faulk everyone was recruiting him for DB and SDSU was only team that recruited him to be a RB. I

Also wanted Brandon Jacobs to play LB. Wanted Reggie McNeal to play WR. And right...no one mentions that shite at all.

Know why?

Cause he has 6 championships and is the greatest college coach ever?

Now I'm confused. You said that you've been saying he was recruiting Chase as a DB since at least junior year:

Me: You said Miles wanted him as a DB? I hadn't heard that before.

You: Yes. Since at least his Jr year

OK, what in the frick is that supposed to prove. Was Miles a mind reader?

I don't know how it's on Miles when the dad says they're willing to try DB and the kid's actions say otherwise. There was a lack of honest communication there and it was from the Chase family.

Exactly. Winning championships has a way of giving a guy a ton of credibility.

Miles, on the other hand, is considered a cartoon character who had some success but is mostly just a goofball who sucks at offense

I was just talking about how long I’ve said it. He didn’t continuously recruit him as a DB.

It was a one time deal at that camp. Which didn’t sit well

I bet Stingley would have made a great WR, but some idiot, like Les Miles, convinced him to be a DB.

I don't know why you don't put it on the Chase family to effectively communicate their wishes.

If he didn't want to play DB, the dad should've just stood his ground. None of this "you don't say no to Les Miles" crap. Is this a man we're talking about or a boy?

Because the mis-evaluation and lack of offer at the time has nothing to do with that at all.

Gotcha. So you told the board years ago Miles wanted him as a DB.

Subsequently Miles started recruiting him as a WR.

And the duration of Miles recruiting him as a DB was the one day in camp. But, the damage was already done. That right?

Nah. That’s a sign of respect. Can’t blame the Dad.

If this is true (I have no reason to think it’s not, this is on Miles and his staff. )

Well you couple that with leaving camp without an offer and yea it compounds itself. Watch Chase now and imagine a coach telling him we have to see more lol.

Jay Roth basically changed his offense after 20 years because of this kid. He was just a monster and prob one of the 3 best offensive players to ever play at the school. A school that has been very fruitful to LSU. Miles just totally missed that one
