He would actually be a better replacement for Paul Finbaum, just answering the phone and listening to ranting, baiting when necessary, and making a snide pun on occasion. Frankly, he would be much more fun to watch in that setting. Finbaum is stale and hard to watch on that show.

Precisely!! Miles cannot be concise and he babbles on without saying anything of substance. You might as well hire the Jabberwocky.

Yes, a year or two of down time to spend more time with family, travelling, etc. is a good thing, but even that grows old.
He hasn't been out of a job for a year, I think he's enjoying the family time right now.

to be an analyst for FOX Sports

What he enjoys most is having those $133,000 checks coming into his bank account each month.

Stubborn streak continues to be his worst enemy.

Honestly, I never could envision Miles being a football analyst because he is utterly impossible to be understood.
Coach speak. He has that old school mentality he learned from Schembechler and others.
A ton of people have met him and/or heard him speak publicly and spoke very highly of it.

Cause you're a sheep and its the easiest thing to believe. Its more difficult to understand, that sports media has made an ever drifting slant towards no name mindless drones, who regurgitate what writers feed them.
They have people on espn daily, who I have never heard of. They certainly dont speak their minds, rock the boat, or speak from the heart. Miles may be many things, but he sure in hell speaks from his heart, is uncensored and a non conformist.
But yeah, keep pumping the illiterate 3 year old propaganda, its easier to swallow for idiots like you.

Click the above link if you want to know why real sports minds hate the puppetry of some "sports media." You may or may not like Mark Cuban, but that isnt the point. Everything he says in the link is 100 percent accurate, and why ESPN and other sports outlets are less content related and more becoming like a TMZ look at me shite show.

Why would Herbstreit be at FOX Sports?

The job market didn't align well for him last season with most of the big job openings looking for a young "hot" name
Guys, Miles could have had a head coaching job last season, he could have one this season, and who could doubt he could have a media job. The reason he isn't doing it is becoming apparent: he would not get paid. His LSU payout requires a 1 for 1 reduction if he has another job. Miles simply does not want to work for free.

Thanks for posting. He's exactly right, and they can't defend it.
Even though i dont think Les would be good from a delivery perspective, he also doesnt fit the media mindset.

Have you watched ESPN lately?

See above statement.

Those are three things that Les Miles struggles with like a 3-year-old trying to drive a Space Shuttle.
As much as some like to think he's a bumbling idiot, he has an economics degree from Michigan. Academically speaking, a school that is head and shoulders better than LSU, as much as I hate to admit it
Posted on 8/2/17 at 9:58 am to TBoy@LSU
eh there's your media guarded Miles and Miles in private. The people who think he's the same while at the podium filibustering at pressers would be surprised at the differences. He was a highly regarded recruiter for a reason

he would be awful as an analyst. the man can't speak.
Have you actually ever talked to the man? Have you ever been to one of his speaking engagements.
You do realize that all of that was an act. He is not the idiot that people on here like to believe he is. I think he would do great as an analyst or as a tv personality.
I think the thing is that he doesn't want to. He is getting paid, he is free to move around as he wants and to see his kids and spend time with his family. He has about 5 million reasons over the next few years to not be in a rush.

Let's just face the truth nobody wants him. Everyone has been laughing at us not with us

Miles said he went for a tryout to be an analyst for FOX Sports, but didn’t want to be conformed.
The man definitely speaks his own language. Kind of a bastardized Stengelese.

LMAO at the delusional Miles apologists. The basic (and obvious) truth is that no school wanted to hire him, especially schools with marquee football programs. This is not some brilliant ploy concocted by a covert genius. No one wanted him.

I would not argue about his suitability for marguee programs, but that wasn't at issue. Mid level teams like Southern Miss would love to have Miles, which makes your statement above...wrong!
