Les would never have gotten Burrow
You don't really think Jeaux would've come just because Orgeron?

Miles floor was 7 wins and ceiling was 9 wins
Stubbornness and 1960's offense
Orgeron floor was 3 wins and ceiling was 10 wins barring a QB falling from heavens.
Undisciplined team and opt-out exodus every bowl season
If forced to choose between them, give me Miles.
...and a helmet for beating my head against wall

There is a dedicated Cheerio population who honestly think getting Burrow was 100% O and nothing else could have done it.

Sorry, but Les was a disgusting immoral POS.

What does that make Orgeron?

Give me pre divorce Coach O 10/10 times. He at least was going to stumble in to being competent on offense by letting the OC do whatever he wanted.

Do you know what a "ceiling" means?

but hey lets put ALL the blame on the guy who gets hardly any credit for fielding the greatest team of all time
This is the most fun argument of the O supporters in my opinion. The thought of O as just a victim of circumstance. If people weren't out to get him, he'd give us multiple 2019s. But there was a conspiracy of people and circumstances that just didn't want that to happen.

This is a serious set of questions. What do you think O actually did in terms of coaching for that 2019 team? Do you think he was in any way involved in scheming or playcalling in 2019? Do you think he organized practices or anything of the D2D work? Do you honestly think he was anything more than a mouthpiece along for the ride while Aranda and Ensminger ran the team?
There will be no answers to any of this

Les Miles is a better recruiter and organizer but a terrible game day coach with a 1950’s offense.
Coach O is a good motivator and recruiter but overall a terrible coach and he is difficult for other coaches to work with him. He can’t hire good assistants.
I would take neither.

JB would have come to run what kind of offense at LSU? Miles had proven that he wasn't going to spread it out...so a guy who grew up in the spread would choose LSU over a team that does

Ironically, JB had the type of game to make Cam Cameron's offense tolerable.
Remember 2013? Would have been similar to that but a higher level.

He wanted a spread offense and allowed SE to bring in Brady to implement that offense. That is kind of important in the grand scheme of things don't you think???

this is the funniest thing about people who think they know football but actually don't know shite about the game. They love to insinuate the HEAD coach doesn't know offense or defense and DOESN'T get involved in schemes on both sides of the ball or make the decisions that influence what type of defensive/offensive plays are going to be called on certain plays.

I’d take Les Miles over Ed Orgeron any day of the week. It’s not a hard choice to make.

How many other offenses did he want prior to that?

I mean O literally didn't. He was not smart and never rose above DL coach for a reason. He's not good at anything other than teaching (outdated) DL technique orchestrated by a superior mind. Aranda was his boss prior to O getting the interim tag.
Did you see his preferred defense in 2020? How did that go?

Aranda always ran the D while he was here. He had total control over that side of the ball.
You think O was butting in on playcalls and overriding E/Brady? In 2019?

O clearly didn't know schemes very well. When he did push for "his scheme" on defense, we all saw what happened. His desired "scheme" on offense amounted to wanting to throw the ball more. Yes, I'm glad that E got Brady and that happened. Again, that wasn't O implementing his desired scheme.

OH SO YOU THINK HE WAS SO STUPID HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WE WERE DOING ON OFFENSE OR DEFENSE?
