No we won't. We will blow games because we didn't build a lead when we had the chance and didn't put teams away that we could have. We will let teams with half the talent stay in the game when we shouldn't and we will turn games that we should win comfortably like last week into nail biters. Except for Syracuse, Eastern Michigan and Western KY.

seems to have worked out

Les isn't afraid to lean on the defense

Just because it didn't fully backfire on him doesn't make it a good strategy

While our defense played well, we lack depth on the D-line and they will get tired. We cant keep putting all on them

I think the lack of depth on our DLine is overplayed.

Lacouture, Godchaux, and Thonas took the bulk of snaps last year and we only lost Bain but Herron and Gilmore have stepped into that role.

DE we lost 2 starters but Essentially added Neal (didn't play a ton last year) and Key in their place and brought back the same depth. We need Teahema and Clark to dig themselves out of whatever hole they are in.

no we would not

balance is balance. We've had none for a long long time. Furthermore, no one is looking to throw passes over the middle 20 yards down the field on every other passing play. TE's and RB's out of the backfield (even the bubble screen) at least keep the defense honest.

I don't really care. We'll bludgeon teams into submission this season.
If you honestly believe that, and aren't just parroting a line from the rant to make yourself feel better about things, then you either don't watch a lot of football, or you just watch LSU football. Being one dimensional is not a long term winning strategy for championship football. You will get your 8, 9 or maybe even 10 wins a year, but it won't catapult you to the next level.

If Miles couldn't watch the second half and realize that Miss State's offense was starting to click, and 21 points might not be enough to win this game, then that's an issue. seems to have worked out Les isn't afraid to lean on the defense

I've supported the coaches and defended them to no end. However, I have to say, I didn't agree with running the ball exclusively in the second half.

This way of thinking is becoming disturbing to me. It didn't work against Alabama two out of the last three years. Didn't work against Clemson, It almost didn't work against A&M last year (yes, we were off sides and they didn't call it) It didn't work against Notre Dame and it almost didn't work against Ms. State this year. The two "almost didn't works" were aided by penalties or not called penalties.

I want to give the benefit of the doubt. I'm am getting concerned that this is the philosophy. I don't have a problem in shortening the game. You must keep the ball and make first downs to do that. If you are not willing to mix it up a little to make a pass on any of the downs in an attempt to make a first down, then you are letting them keep the ball and attempt to come back and win.

More times than not, in close games, we are letting the other team keep the ball, tire our defense, and win in the end.

Miles has thought this way since Oregon game at jerry world . It probably goes back even farther than that. it's almost to a point where he WANTS a LSU QB. Not to put up big numbers and call it game management in the process . The close losses have a direct effect on a less (les) passing game and will continue to do so. So these threads will repeat almost in a loop of complaining about passing game to a fault especially in these losses

Exactly. Also, contrary to popular opinion, keeping the chains moving by passing more will actually give Fournette more opportunities to carry the ball.

This explains why we have more players in the NFL than any other school but have been finishing 3rd in the West.

Frankly I think Miles was willing to risk losing the game if it meant protecting Harris from a bad mistake. His goals were to 1) win, 2) get Harris through the game without any damage to his psyche

Passing on 3rd and long plays is not protecting the QB.

Play action on first down when the safeties are drawn in protects the QB.

(example)First quarter play action pass for thirty yards for a TD to Dural. no pressure and a wide open receiver.

I would argue that you better be a mature QB (Zach)to run a Miles offense are mentally you may digress.

I am repeating this mantra over and over - enjoy the game as miles is gonna coach it.

Don't worry, as Harris gains the trust and confidence in the coaching staff to throw the ball and not create negative plays he will get more attempts. Also realize in Miles world the game situation has to dictate the issue as well. Right now he will not throw the ball inside his own 20 and seldom inside his own 35. Once he gets past those lines the offense will open up unless he is burning clock with a lead...

Look at the overall stats-not just one player- Miss State did let this one slip away--Ive heard no one indicate any lack of effort by LSU-just Miles and his Coaching strategy is the issue many are critical of. He has a long history of it and eventually he risk losing the Team because of his lack of confidence in the Team.

1. never get less than 12 hours sleep
2. never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city
3. and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.

now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese.

I hate it when he says "I wouldn't be surprised if we passed more." What, he has no clue what the game plan is or is this the way Midwesterners talk?

Being one dimensional

Holy frick, do you clowns think there is anyone above ten who doesn't know 70 yards passing is not going to cut it in the SEC?

In case you have forgotten, a senior QB in 2011 started out with 98 yards passing, but we went on to have a great year.

It's one fricking game that we won in spite of losing two TDs and other yardage due to penalties.

Get off the rag and get behind your team.
