Don’t post your “hypothetical” point in a thread and get mad when people call you out

We are all being hypothetical right? So we can’t protect the retards

Who said I'm mad? You're the one lashing out at me simply because I have a different opinion in a scenario that won't happen.

Not AD material.

He's too nice.

Wouldn't fire any HC no matter how bad their teams performed.

Doesn't have the financial-marketing-promotional-negotiation skills either.

Pumpnuts just grasping at straws here.

Let’s see, he was fired because he hired his buddies and wouldn’t fire them when they proved a liability.

Yeah, Les would make a great AD.

He can't talk - you don't want somebody like that as AD.

Love him as a person. However, I think he is too nice and too loyal to make necessary changes when they are needed. I think his problem with coaching is he is just old school and loves that style of football. He did not change with the times. I just don't see him recognizing when something needed to be changed and actually pull the trigger. Also, who's to say he wont be trying to meddle with the coaches and how they coach. Now, i'd love to have him here as recruiting coordinator!

yea so he can mismanage the roster and sign a bunch of fullbacks and kickers while neglecting the lines then bump up the class rating by signing some 4* DBs and receivers while being horrible at evaluating QBS
What a great recruiting coordinator!
Thank you Les for the good years but you should have no role at LSU ever again!

Just hire Miles back as HC, then O's buyout is no longer an issue since we won't be also paying Miles not to coach either. Maybe Saban will win another NC and can retire, then Miles would become the top recruiter in the SEC and we have dominant enough players to run toss dives down the throats of every defense in the SEC at will.

If the other choice is Joe Alleva, then yes.

How can you fire a guy and then hire him to be the boss of the position he was fired for. Why do we always have to hire people you're familiar with at LSU?

Here's a novel idea. Let's hire a proven AD that's done this successfully before

its actually not a bad question.. as hopefully we will be searching for an AD position soon.. I think the optics of him being the AD would be good, he did make solid hires. But being the AD is also alot about numbers and vision and how to attain that vision.. No one ever questioned the mans heart for the school, I hated him as a football coach from Day 1, i never wanted him here, his success at OSU came from Gundy. But he is a great man, great family man, and a fair man. If im in charge of hiring the AD, id want to have a conversation with him about becoming the AD. See what he has to say, get his thoughts. Find out what his vision would be and what he would want to do to attain that vision. my gut feeling tells me he wouldnt be a bad AD at all.

I'm really conflicted on this. Despite his neanderthalic approach to offense, Miles does know football, he understands the SEC, and he understands the talent level needed to compete in the SEC. Given that, I beleive Miles could evaluate and hire an excellent HC, and help assembling a staff. In regards to managing an Athletic Dept, who knows.
