Mike the Tiger Story

When they used to put MIke in the trailer and drive him through the stadium, they backed the trailer right to the old cage and let Mike go in and walk around a few times to get used to it. Mike knew the drill and was fine with it.
It was Nick Saban's first year and we were hoping for a win.
We were lined up to watch Mike enter his trailer and some drunk Bama fans burst in front of us getting between us and the cage. Tiger fans were a bit miffed, but it's Bama and we expect this.
So the Tiger fans slowly stepped back, away from the cage as the three Bama fans called him Pussy, kitty cat, etc. Mike walked around the cage two times, raised his tail and pissed all over the cage, marking his territory. The piss went all over the Bama fans and the LSU fans roared in laughter.
We won the game 30-28 and those fans had to watch the game covered in tiger piss. I feel sorry for whomever sat next to them, but ain't too many things worse smelling than rank tiger piss.
The tiger will easily get used to going to the games. Mike in 2000 was fine, he knew the drill. This is all much to do about nothing. I for one would like the chance to see Mike pee on another fan base as we sing STTDB.

Mike 3 did not like going in and was not happy or friendly.

That cannon has been shot for YEARS.

Mike would probably be more inclined to go into the stadium if we allowed him to be released from the cage onto a chained prey animal at the 50, whomever mascot our opponent is. Having pig blood for example on the tiger eye would be awesome intimidation plus we would be allowing our beloved Tiger access to his inner predatory instincts, incentivizing him to get into the transport cage.

I’m not opposed to trailering him in if the trailer is all glass and sound proof, with no lighting or visual effects while he’s the stadium. And he has to willingly go in the trailer. I’m just not supportive of stressing an animal for no reason. It’s just wrong based on what we know about these animals.

Add a little tiger shite to it and let it simmer for a while before rinsing it off to cross a sidewalk on the way to the ditch.
And throw in a 8-9 year old kid who thought he could jump over that murk because his older brother had just done it --- and you have ME.
Proud wearer of tiger excrement from Mike the FIRST!!!

Forget the trailer. Build Mike an elevated catwalk from his enclosure directly into the stadium. He could come and go as he pleases. Carve him out a section of the NEZ seats to hang out in.

The cannon was never a problem. The introduction of the fireworks is what caused Mike to no longer willingly walk into the trailer.
This was directly from Mike’s lead vet.

This would work but I was thinking an underground tunnel under the street and to the stadium.

When I was a kid, we were watching them transfer Mike to the trailer. A guy was standing there with a hose and they said “be ready, when he gets in the trailer, he will spray.” I thought they meant the guy with the hose. When the Tiger got in the trailer, he pissed all over everyone standing there. Fortunately, he missed me!

They just want the party to continue at any costs at Maximum Warp.

Then screw the fireworks. Bring back Mike.

False, and neither have the fireworks. Should get rid of both. Nothing like starting off a game and having to wait for the smoke to clear out of the way for 5 minutes to be able to see the game.

all of you old fricking losers who want a Tiger in a cage need to get a life. Prolly the losers who keep dog on leash outside.

Mike V was the best live mascot. He was a cub on the court with Shaq. He had a great personality. He was a great gameday tiger. He would roar at the guy in the costume.
Mike V wasn't just a tiger - he was the GTOAT.

Everyone involved in this has bigger fish to fry, or if they don't they should.
