So Dellenger wrote a blog post just parroting the info from the Oklahoma website.

And Dellenger specifically writes that "the Advocate" was not able to verify the story out of Oklahoma.

Dellenger is very lazy.

Anyone who has read his Advocate reports knows he barely watches games that he writes about often misreporting basic facts like who hit a homerun for LSU or who made a critical tackle.

He's a Mississippi State alum who wishes he could cover Miss St sports for a newspaper there but neither newspaper in Mississippi wants him.

Would be a disastrous hire. But if it expedites Miles leaving, what the hell, might as well suck, than be mediocre.

To those who think this is a bargaining ploy to get Pendergast to accept the job, I don't think so.

It has been reported that if offered the job he would take it. Not much of a negotiating tactic.

Stats from over 10 years ago generally don't mean a thing when hiring a coach.

His defenses at Arizona looked to be in the top 30-40 every year I could find. I am pretty sure any coach could do better at LSU than Arizona of the 2000s.

I don't want him considering the other candidates, but to say all his defenses were bad is slight hyperbole when looking at context.

None of us really know what the truth is amidst all of these "reports."

So barely being in the top third is now worthy of being hired by a program like LSU?

At Arizona in the mid 2000s, I'd consider that overachieving. Some. I think 08 and 09 were top 25.

Id like to see some conference rankings. That is what everyone uses to pump up CP and Venables.

Im hesitant over stoops but havent melted yet.

Per Jim Kleinpeter @ NOLA.com....

quote:

Good chance this is a red herring. Pendergast lives in Dallas as does George Bass, who is Miles' agent. Good place for him to meet all candidates. Stoops is a bad fit. Perhaps Les is doing him a favor getting his name in there

quote:

Don't assume he's hired. Pendergast is still the top choice.

quote:

Smokescreen maybe, or doing a favor. Although I don't ever remember Miles and the Stoops' being friends.

2008 PPG - 21.3 (35th)

2009 PPG - 23.2 (49th)

The only seasons he had better were 2006 at 19.6 PPG (41st) and 2010 at 21.6 PPG (35th).

You have to interview several candidates. If we do have something in the works with Clancy and Bebe, we can't just not interview anyone else and get caught with our pants down if it falls through this close to signing day.
