Leach said today on Dan Patrick today he expects to be a head coach somewhere next year (and LSU will not have an opening). You don't fire your coach the year your state ahs the best recruiting it has had in 25+ years and you are racking up.

If he takes a OC job, it will be in the NFL.

Leach might actually be a damn good fit for LSU
and this zoo of a fan base.

His offense would give Saban's defense fits.

The offensive version as compared to Saban's defensive version.

LSU will never make this hire though, too much baggage.

I could see LSU make a run for Tuberville down the line though.

There are other reasons we might have an opening for a head coach you know?

IMO, so please do not jump my arse, his style of coaching would not stand a chance week in/week out in the SEC.

imo it really could. agreed that he would have to hire a sharp d-coordinator, but to be at texas tech & still give ut and oklahoma a run for their money year in and year out shows me that at a flagship university with premier talent, he could be very successful. but hey, it just imho too, so who knows....

Mike Leach is on XM 143 right now and said that there is no finer place to play football than at tiger stadium! He talked about fans mooning the visiting team bus' coming to the stadium, Mike the Tiger next to the entrance where the opposing team enters the field and that they can't poke Mike to get him to roar anymore.

Uh, when was Mike Leach physically at an LSU football game?

NOOOOOO! A Friend's son played for him and said he was the strangest, most bizarre human being he has ever known. I don't think we need 2 whack jobs on the sidelines

Leach is too arrogant to ever believe he needs a decent defense. Leach is a better fit for mid level jobs or schools looking to make a splash

Why the general hate for Leach but love-fest for Petrino? Both are big on offense and little on defense.

That's exactly why I don't like it. I would worry more about our program if he were in charge. I am no Craig James fan, but I have to believe he is an accident waiting to happen again.

Mike Leach would not make it in the SEC. His teams got destroyed by Ole Miss and Bama and neither were world beaters at the time. Well Bama didn't destroy them but they were picked to beat them.

Why do people say stuff like this? Mike Leach is one of the most inventive offensive minds in the past decade and probably the brightest passing mind in who knows how long. Texas Tech didn't even exist before he got there. He is there program. What he did with that program with the caliber of talent he had there (or lackthereof) is incredible.

If somehow the guy was willing to come here as an OC, LSU would win 3-4 NCs in the next 10 years and I have little doubt in saying that. It'll never happen though. The fact that the man is currently jobless as a result of essentially putting a spoiled brat in timeout is ridiculous and pretty much sums-up the pvssification of America these days.
