Mike Denbrock didn't call the plays at Cincinnati in 2021?

Cincinnati: Quarterbacks coach / pass game coordinator Gino Guidugli is being promoted to offensive coordinator. Luke Fickell shared with ESPN last night that Guidugli will continue to call plays, which he's been doing since the start of the 2021 season.

during the playoff game I saw him with a play sheet calling plays. Maybe he meant the other guy would call some plays from time to time

Either way Denbrook will be seen as the weak link on this staff upcoming season. He will be the scapegoat also if things do not go well.

Luke Fickell is a bitch and reminds me very much of Tom Herman. Being petty and classless because someone left your program doesn’t really work out too well in the long run

Sounds like another Brady/Ensminger scenario.

Come on man. I guess that is Cincy’s secret sauce. Have an OCINO (offensive coordinator in name only). That will fool EVERYONE!

Maybe this dude called a couple plays? The statement would still be correct.

Well if that's the case the offense looked much better in 2020 when Denbrock was calling plays
They weren't near as explosive this season with same personnel

So Gino is responsible for that abysmal performance vs Bama.

Don’t eliminate the possibility that Fickell is trolling LSU.

I'm on record. Thia was the worst hire Kelly made.

Never great to start with "well if that's the case..."

2020 - 37.5 ppg
2021 - 36.9 ppg

LOL

I think people aren't realizing that Kelly could've hired Sean Payton and the offense would still be Kelly's. Denbrock just knows how Kelly operates and is a solid recruiter. It'll be a lot more seamless with them together again.

Not ecstatic about it either, but I just don't think it was the most important hire for Kelly. His DC was much more important and he nailed that.

Well Joke is on them for paying him OC salary then?

I mean its pretty dumb statement all the way around… IF he meant to claim Guidugli called ALL the plays.

When Kelly was hired several posters on here made it a thing that he called his own plays. I dont recall seeing that when watching ND but that was the storyline...

You expect Luke Fickell to honestly acknowledge who deserves credit?
