We didn’t want O and he proved us wrong. I’m sure he will make a good choice. If he chooses Fisher I’ll support him.

But let’s not act like this guy wasn’t nfl coach of the year at one point and he was an extremely good DC in the NFL for decades.

That was all before spread offenses changed the game. We need a modern DC just like we needed a modern OC.

Where did Mike D get this from I wonder. Did he just pull a name out his arse? I wonder is recruits would want to play for a former NFL coach? I don’t know what to think about it

He was a DC for like three years, last in 1994. I’m sure he was involved in the defense as a HC but he wasn’t the DC.

He also has no experience against the spread offenses that have overrun the NCAA.

Also at the poster talking up the idea that his defense would be complex after years of our fans bashing Aranda’s defense for being too complex.

Wouldn't dig the hire... That guy every year, somehow, someway, found a way to go 7-9.

His offenses were stale. But his defenses were pretty stout. I guess it would be a decent hire. But he’s definitely not in my top several choices.

It would be interesting but not sure if Fisher would have the motivation to work as hard as an aranda game planning and teaching the players.

It wasn’t Fishers fault he got stuck with Vince Young. I never felt like he wanted him to be honest. He’s a damn good coach. Went to the super bowl with Steve McNair and held the greatest show on turf in check.

Didn't Les nearly hire Dick Lebeau at like, age 80.

Would be a very interesting, unexpected hire. All the people disparaging Jeff Fisher on here are off base. The guy can coach. His players love him. His defenses were always solid. The fact that he went 7-9 with that anemic rams offense is shocking.

Mason would be a home run hire, but he’s even more unlikely than Fisher.

You really think he’s taking a demotion??

I love how everyone on here always equates a coaches success/failures as head coach to them as a coordinator as well. It’s two different responsibilities and many GREAT coordinators have gone on to fail as head coaches. Wouldn’t be my first choice but not because of his overall win/loss record as a head coach.

Charlie Strong proved he wasn't a head coach. I think he could be a solid get with his Florida and Texas connections in recruiting.
