Small sample size but he is getting lots of praise this year

He had something going at Maryland as well

So many threads on here “who would you replace PM with”

Just curious if you’d be interested in him

ETA: have zero clue why I am getting downvoted

Texas Tech’s coach is the first call you make. 4 CWSs in 7 seasons at Texas fricking Tech.

Mainieri made the NCAA tournament 8 years in a row at Notre Dame before LSU hired him. Michigan’s coach hasn’t shown that consistency.

The CPM apologists will be here to derail the thread shortly, but he is on a short list of coaches I would think LSU would take a look at.

I agree... went through Oregon State Regional and UCLA Regional on the road and won them. He is 3-0 at College World Series. The Guy is a winner in a place that hasn't won in awhile. Maybe a short body of work but it is very impressive.

They were one of the last 4 to get into the field of 64.

They didn't win the BIG10, which was arguably the worst of the P5 conferences.

They didn't win the BIG10 tournament.

They got through the Corvallis regional without having to play Oregon State, so that's not really a big accomplishment.

They did win at UCLA which is impressive.

Their CWS results have been impressive.

While I agree he has his team playing well, it looks more like they just got hot at the right time instead of him being such a great coach. We'll see how they finish out, but he would have to get far into the post-season several times before I would say we should look at him after CPM is finished.

This the same guy that’s a social justice warrior? Proclaiming to want a team that looks like America.

While I agree that Tadlock is an excellent coach, he is having great success at his alma mater. It’s not going to be easy to pry him away from that if it’s possible at all

I’ve named several coaches that may be more realistic. Tadlock most likely won’t leave Tech and the Mich coach is getting praise based on a couple years out of 6-7 in a weak arse conference. He’s missed the postseason 4 of his 7 years. I’ll take the following

Josh Holliday
Dan McDonnell
Cliff Godwin

That Pitching coach they have might be the reason for their success. 3 of their pitchers are studs...

It’s possible but he’s been with Tadlock since the very beginning of his tenure at TT. So Tadlock deserves a lot of credit for getting and keeping him

If Michigan puts together another 2-3 solid seasons, and that's the time Mainieri goes, then he absolutely should get a look. He doesn't even need to make trips back to Omaha. If he can make Michigan a solid baseball team, win a few Big 10 titles, make regionals every year, host one, make another trip at least to a SR, then I would be excited to see what he could do at a school like LSU.

We likely have 3-4 more years of Mainieri anyway. I think they are set up for at least 2 really good seasons coming up.

LSU Baseball, unlike basketball and football, is an legitimate top 3 job in the country. The combo of fan and regional support, funding, and facilities are second to none. I think any coach would be crazy to not consider Coming here.

Posters here worship CPM. I’d be happy if they would just realize some of the great young coaches out there.

Unfortunately we will have to wait for CPM to retire before we get a dynamic motivator that the kids love and respond to.

I don't think anybody thinks that there isn't. However, LSU is not in the market for a coach (nor should they be).
