Yeah I mean it is what it is. It sucks because basically with the cws schedule we just had no shot with that first loss to WF. Even with everything we’ve done since.
Just don’t have the pitching depth to survive an extra game on the shorter schedule. Sucks if we had had the Friday start Skenes could’ve started three times.

I don’t know a fricking thing but I got had a feeling this morning that Skenes wasn’t going to pitch. You ever get one of those feelings. Hope I’m wrong.

That would mean Cooper is out and Hurd/Skenes both have limited pitches in them. No way Coleman touches the ball if Skenes, Hurd, Cooper and Herring are all available. Especially if Cooper is available for multiple innings.

I get that. But there is the argument for starting the game off with momentum and hoping we get out to a nice lead and put pressure on them. And everybody would be sick if we wait too late and it’s 9-3 in the 7th and the best pitcher in baseball is available on the bench.
I think one big argument against him starting, though, is the temptation to leave him in there longer than planned. If they give him a hard pitch count of 50 or 60 pitches, but when he gets there it’s 0-0 in the 5th and he’s still throwing 100, it’s gonna be hard for both Jay to pull him and Paul to want to come out. The temptation might be too great, and not starting him could be taking that temptation and decision out of their hands.
I think the right thing to do is have a definite plan for Skenes—I’m sure that was determined and agreed to last night with the input of Jay, Wes, the training staff, Paul, Paul’s parents, and his probably his agent—and just commit to it and let the chips fall where they may and live with it. No matter what, Paul Skenes is not gonna win this game by himself. Other guys are simply gonna have to step up. Let’s see who wants to become a legend.

Agreed, Herring is the only other person I would consider starting of they didn't don't start Skenes.

I definitely agree
I just don't see JJ throwing his best punch in the first inning. You've got so many options if you don't start him but if you you're really reducing the options and way you can win this game.
The longer that loaded gun stays on your hip the more options you have.

Link? twitter? No one else is saying this but Cauble (no clarifications or link yet he said that) , yeah I cal BS. Charles hanagriff who is the utmost insider doesn’t know and says it’s a guess. It’s a guess , he could guess right but no one has confirmed shite and no reliable reporter claims to know who is starting . I doubt jay even knows 100% now who is starting.

Wtf are y’all even talking about. We’ve got everyone available besides Floyd and ack . Skenes will be on a low pitch count but why would Coleman fricking start? Why are we even giving this crap a second thought , the dudes just guessing like us.
