Miami in 1990s/2000s is the last time I've seen a college promoted this much in the NFL.

LSU is everywhere all over the NFL playoffs and now in the Super Bowl. This is pretty incredible. I remember Miami and the fraternity that their players had in the NFL as they always represented "da U" but I haven't seen it since. It's pretty cool to see NFLSU be a real thing that people can't stop talking about.

And, with hiring Brian Kelly and his coaching staff, we made it clear that the 3 national championships with 3 different coaches in the last 18 years is something we're committed to and its not just dependent on one player or coaching staff. It's part of the culture that will continue.

It'd be nice if the university could use it to improve it's academic standing/ranking. #172 - lots of room to go up!

Pretty remarkable for such a tiny private school that didn't really support the football team near as much as LSU did and does.

LSU has far more staying power with geography and alumni base.

That tiny private institution was in the middle of the biggest cocaine industry boom in history. The money was flowing everywhere down there.

I don't think there's any question that will improve.
Obviously, CBK/Quinn/Polian/Hankton (and prolly a couple more Staff) all have experience recruiting academically elite athletes but we'd have to go a pretty far taste to get a whiff of the SEC top echelon.

Kind of helps when you don’t play by the rules, Jimmy Johnson era UM makes NIL look like chump change, and the players were outright criminals. frick da U

That would have to be when Einstein was at Princeton this decade a hundred years ago, right?
No, wait! It'll be this fall in Death Valley! We don't call it chemistry anymore, though. Most folks call it "fit" nowadays. And our guy is a far tad away from being in his teens but the experiment to see if his alignment will "fit" in BR is going to be a series of can't miss events!

The notion that LSU might improve its academic standings gets roundly downvoted.
That's the Rant...

Thousands of people every day get in line for a chemistry experiment they call chemotherapy.

Don’t shite on academics. It’s important too.

Lots of schools have used athletic or other success/prominence to parlay it into a rise in the academic rankings. It seems some here don't even think it's a worthy goal to begin with!

Whose ranking is that? If it's U.S. News & World Report - LSU is ranked 85th nationally for public schools - which is in Tier 1.

But, LSU is ranked 162nd nationally overall (all colleges public and private here):
