Was present. Besides the rain what I remember most was Steve Walsh having more time to find receivers than any game of football I have ever watched.

almost got struck by lightning at that game. Horrible weather and they didn't have lightning delays back then.

I was in Tiger Stadium for the first half, then I was in Murphy's (occasionally glancing at the TV) for the second half.

I was living in South Florida back then and my wife, a few friends and I went to a bar to watch the game. We were surrounded by Cane fans and it was miserable.

That's why the 2005 beat down of the U was so damn spectacular.

My dad was hit in the head with a flag pole in the south end zone. It was pouring that night. Totally sucked.

believe I was there! Isn’t that the game when we got torrential downpours of rain, and Miami rained the points down on us? Miserable.

What a different time. Stepdad dropped us off and picked us up at the entrance under the west upper. When the game was over we walked on the field and the bathrooms were flooded. A few 11-12 yrs olds by ourselves. Stayed the entire time.

The greatest QB in New Orleans Saints history Walsh Walsh Baby, Saints damn near gave up the franchise for him.

Wasn’t he picked in the supplemental draft? Seems like the most they could have given up was their next year’s 1st.

Sheets of rain fell into the stadium, then the wind would catch it, and the rain would swirl it in the air round and round before it fell to the field. Just amazing.

Also witnessed the 58-3 Florida debacle. Misery bonus: My wife ate a hotdog and got sick as hell. Her first game.

I’m pretty sure that’s the hardest it’s ever rained in Tiger Stadium. The McNeese game which was canceled 2 years ago may have challenged, but the deluge in’88 went on for hours... every time I thought “oh well, this is as hard as it can rain” it would rain twice as hard. It was insane. I was a sophomore. My group stayed well until the outcome was obvious.

Liked that uniform combination. Gold helmet, purple jersey, and gold pants. To me represents the real LSU colors. I do like the fact though that we are one of few that can wear white jerseys at home.

I was, for some strange reason my mother gave me and 3 Buddies (we were 16 at the time) her car and let us drive to Baton Rouge (3 hrs away) for this game. As we enter stadium so does the rain. Miserable

I remember taking the trash bags out of the trash cans and dumping the trash and wearing the bags. It was bad

Seemed like every time the Tigers got the ball, the sky opened up.

I was sitting with my dad on the 2nd to top row lower bowl on 25 yard line east side.

Most miserable game ever.

Dad, who must have been around 60 years old then, refused to leave before the game was over. I stood with my hands cupped around my face during much of the monsoon with my back to the game on the top row hugging the wall. At the time, I wore soft contact lenses and I felt like they were going to wash away.

Again... probably the most miserable game, weather-wise, in the history of Tiger Stadium.

My senior year, and because we were so good and Miami was outstanding, I'm pretty sure I didn't drink that night as I wanted to remember every bit of it. Mistake. I remember as sheets and sheets of rain dumped out of the sky, there was Steve Walsh repeatedly camped in the pocket for what seemed like 8-10 seconds. It's the only time I've ever felt like I was watching a professional team play LSU, and that includes the last few years of Alabama. That Miami team along with the 1979 USC team are the two best teams I've ever seen in Tiger Stadium.
