Players are soft, un-athletic, can’t shoot, no handles, and low bb IQ. I don’t care who coaches them, you can’t win with bottom of the barrel players!
Roughly 40 different players have come through the program in the last 4 years and they have basically all had that description. Do you think, perhaps, it might be the one common denominator throughout those four years?
Every other coach in the SEC could win 2 to 3 times more games with this roster than McMahon could.

I wonder what CM's excuses are about the last 4 years?

People thought Woodward was untouchable after the Johnson hire and he managed to destroy two programs in one with MBB and FB

Coach is the kind of guy who probably makes a hell of an uncle.
But he doesn’t know Xs and Os better than a middling fan. He has actually recruited fair in terms of player ratings coming in. But he’s evaluated the talent poorly and/or just really is not able to develop players. Off the top of my head I can’t thinking a single player who he’s brought to LSU who’s gotten appreciably better.
And possibly the most important thing IMO that he is lacking as a modern-day college basketball coach is an edge - no fire, no attitude. Just once I’d like to see him show some damn emotion after an arse-beating. Have a Jim Mora “playoffs?!” moment or chew Michael Cauble’s arse at a press conference. Jesus, Matt, act like you give a shite.

Idk. Could be AD, lack of emphasis on bb, cash, maybe coach isn’t good at recruiting. Just saying it isn’t as easy as fire the coach.

No. He's wet cardboard

No, it’s really that easy.
You’re overthinking it by being gaslit by the McMahon fan club who has tried to find EVERY excuse imaginable for the poor results…except the most obvious.

IMO, MM is neither a motivator nor a floor coach. This year's team has enough talent to go 9-9 in the SEC but the team is wildly inconsistent.
CMM cannot leave soon enough for me. My wife and I walked out at halftime and wont be back again this season as long as MM is the HC. Hell, we made it to Jan 28 this season but couldn't make it to Feb 1 like last season. Buying my season tickets is like throwing cash into a firepit.

Wrong! I don’t give a damn what people say about the coach. I don’t care if he stays or he goes. But when he leaves, you still have the same sorry players!! New coach helps, maybe, but that alone isn’t going to do it. Maybe you’re under-thinking it…

Because McMahon doesn't belong in the SEC.

Maybe not, but we disagree on what talent looks like. I know a basketball player when I see one, and they are in short supply!!

quote:It is totally false that we have a highly paid roster compared to other schools. Not only are we not in the top 20 nationally, we aren't even in the top ten in the SEC. In fact most estimates put us next to last in conference. Top players are going for one to two million and our highest paid player is around $800,000.
We have one of the highest paid rosters in the country. No excuse for this team not to be a top 25 team. But our HC can’t scout and/or develop talent.

You really think a new coach is going bring back the same players and aren't bringing in his own players? You make no sense.

You are aware that when the new coach comes in he’ll likely have almost, if not an entirely new roster, right? That’s the norm now. Things have changed a lot in the last 5 years.
Hell, McMahon has fewer returning players THIS season than he had in his first season.

No. You don’t understand how this works. You think a new coach just rounds up new players, like he’s putting a pick up game together? You’re missing my point! Let me make it a little more clear - it’s not just the f-ing coach. All the deep thinkers on the site just say fire that coach, which I’m good with, but that isn’t the only problem!!!
