Will Wade is the best coach in LSU history since Dr. C. C. “Doc” Stroud from 1920. That is fact.

In the era of “one and done,” I will gladly take a proven recruiter. Coaching can improve over time (especially in a sport like basketball), recruiting...not so much.

The Les Miles/Ed Orgeron coaching scale. Even worse, they at least won championships less than 3 years in.

So football is baseball is basketball?

The biggest difference is Wade started with a dumpster fire. Miles came in after Saban with loads of talent. Orgeron came in after miles with loads of talent after miles.

Then there’s the WHOLE DIFFERENCE IN the tournament.

So you want Johnny Jones back?

With that mindset firing O would have meant going back to Les Miles. That’s a stupid argument that many of you keep repeating.

Don't know about coaching change since LSU basketball has been shite so long...but I'll agree he's not the coach this board makes him out to be. Great recruiter but overrated for sure. Better than what we've had recently though.

You sound like you have an extensive background in Basketball Watching, since the 70s, that makes you in your 70s. In your expertise whom do you suggest we get? Cap- has won one with boatloads of talent, K - he’s hanging it up, Pearl - one final four in 25 yrs. WW is very young, learning every step of the way, in 8 yrs he’ll still be considered a young coach. He recruits at a level very few can recruit at, his on court coaching will catch up with his recruiting. He gets high talent to LSU, and we are definitely NOT an elite historical program, so what I’m trying to say it’ll fall into place one day. Phil Jackson is considered one of the best coaches of all time. He’s won several championships but it wasn’t his Xs & Os , he said it was his Jimmy’s & Joes, you got to have them first and then figure out how to win.
Michael Jordan
Scottie Pippen
Shaq
Kobe
These are what made Phil elite, jimmy’s & joes, not Xs & Os

OP down voted to oblivion by all the Wade Sycophants.

All the WW Cheerleaders quickly resort to juvenile name calling in defense of their newly appointed LSU god. The little geeks can't attack the message, so they go right after the messenger. (As they can't stand reading opinions on here that are different than their own)

There's no need to hype out virgin Rantknockers. Scott is most likely going to give your boy another season to see if he can do anything with all that new talent (Plus Miller) that's coming in.

Y'all got at least one more season of WW before SW pulls the plug. No more excuses next season.....

People forget what recruiting and no Xs and Os really looks like.

That team with Simmons was as talented as any team Wade has coached and they didn’t even make the tournament much less win a game.

“Better” coaches have had worse seasons

The same people shitting in Wade are cumming their pants over Pearl who had a losing season last year.

His final 4 team just got hit at the right time but they were 11-7 in conference play.

As much as some posters like to say deep March Run are the mark of great coaching, it’s as much luck and timing.

So you’ve watched a lot of LSU basketball over the years and you’ve determined that the team that has one of the best records in the SEC over the last 3 years, is poorly coached. They just win on talent? LSU has one guy on their entire roster this year, that can play in the NBA.

You're going to get bashed but all these fools are just in love with the talent he brings in but has blinders on when it comes to his coaching deficiencies. True, without him we may go back to being irrelevant but does it really matter if he is unable to get over the hump?

CLM didn't win it all every year, had winning seasons and was ran out.

CPM went to the CWS last year and was ran out.

It was win it all or you suck with those guys. Why does CWW get a pass?

So tell what coach has a better winning percentage in the time you've been watching?

How about a better SEC winning percentage?

How about a better record in either through 4 seasons?

I'll hang up and listen.

When you consider this season and the previous two seasons, we no longer have the best record in conference play. Several teams have better records than we have. The fact is from the 2018-19 season on we have declined.
Of course you can’t expect to win the conference title every year, but we aren’t contending this year; nor did we in the past two.
The question is in which direction will we go from now. We need to improve and compete for conference honors next year.

Les took over an elite program from Saban.

CPM didn’t make the CWS last year and retired.

Both took over programs in significantly better shape than LSU Basketball.

At LSU we play for National titles. At least that's the standard other coaches were held to.
