I agree 100% And for the first time in recent memory, there's no one of note on the DL (at least Ferguson had a decent year last season). There are guys who were highly touted out of HS who don't play, and guys who physically look the part, but don't have the play to match.

I think the offense has big time ability, yes, AJ included. The coaches just haven't found a way to put those guys in positions to make plays (the WR group especially!!). A few changes could spark a good offense.

Defensively though it's tough to do much when you're getting physically beat at the LOS>

We don't have any difference makers on the DL. Hunter looks the part and shows flashes but not consistently. Given that the secondary appears to be the most talented part of the D, it seems our best approach is to load the box and put our cover guys on an island. They may get burned now and then, but it's probably the best option Chavis and company have.

The fundamental problem can only be fixed through recruiting (well, that and DL player development).

It can be fixed by recruiting and a better s&c program

Funny we haven't heard many calling for a new DL coach. Think about it there is no way that they could miss on this many D tackles the last few years. Is he not able to develop these guys fast enough?

We have alot of lineman on the roster and they were highly ranked recruits.

it has been called that but Im not sure we are seeing the results. It happens Moffit was once the best in the world and we dominated teams, we would hurt them and crush them as the game went on. Last week I watched our team get stomped by a more physical team. We might need to look into moving on. Id also mention some of our other positions look slow and big.

how can they possibly know how well they would do playing in a game IF THEY ARE NEVER IN THE GAME

either they can't physically compete or we are scared they will make a mental mistake.

If its the physical part then that can't be fixed in season even if we ordered some deer antler spray from bama. The mental mistake part can be fixed but they need to be on the field.

Your argument will lean more to it being because of the offense. The offense works well in up-tempo, but the coaches want more smash mouth football. That's the current problem that can be fixed if they make the right choice. It will at least give the team a competitive chance in most games. We need to start fast and pass to create more opportunities for the run. We have the skill positions and at least one QB who will not just focus on one player when passing.

Right now, if we play with the style that we played with last week, LSU will not beat Auburn, Florida (strong running game), Ole Miss, or A&M. We'll be too far behind in points.

I don't disagree that the defense definitely has issues, but run-run-run-punt doesn't help either side of the ball

The defense has had issues since 2011, but all the experts here could talk about was the offense. We give up almost 600 yards and 34 points, but lets worry about the starting QB.

Where are all the Chief pumpers?

Anything they see in practice gives a false impression against the current O-line. The truth comes out on gameday. The d-line at least tries and plays hard. Not sure I can say the o-line plays with attitude.

Too busy blaming Mikes for everything to worry about the dline coach..

I'm constantly amazed at how the coordinators get all the credit for good things but it is specifically CLMs fault every time something bad happens

With all the groaning and moaning about the offense, the fact that we gave up more yards than EVER during Miles' tenure (to Miss St no less) has been completely lost in the discussion.

I think people are honestly concerned about both, but reality is that the major concern as has always been people's worry is Les' stubbornness and refusal to make adjustments. If the coaches, particularly on offense, would just try something different, even if it failed, people would not be as frustrated.

Disagree honestly. Everyone knows the strength of our defense is on the backend. So why in the world are we trying to play the slugfest game? When the offense goes three and out so many times and continues to put the defense back on the field, they're going to be absolutely exhausted. And that's exactly what happened.
We need to score early and often to force the opponent to air the ball out. Its about attacking the opponents weakness and making them attack your strength. Which we did the complete opposite of last weekend.
