I will DickMacho agree one or both would have made a significant improvement against State. The problem in my eyes is either the misses or non development of the ones behind those two or some combination of misses or non development.

its about scoring not shutting down offenses.

That must be why A&M has won the west and the SEC the last two years.

One serious puzzle is trying to build a defense for spread teams while also playing big/strong power teams........hard to have it both ways

Yep. In hingsight, our '11 D was almost the perfect modern day D.

Dick what round did Ego go in? He was here four years. I understand your comment on Johnson more..three years and not drafted.

I wrote that drunk and really don't feel as strongly as that post looked.

I definitely think that Les should put a lot of effort into keeping guys who aren't first or second round talent in Purp and Gold. The only way that I can see it really happening is if the players can get some kind of insurance against career ending injuries. As long as a player can have his entire career ruined by some Auburn prick player for no reason other than the fact that Auburn or Miss st players are wretched then I can't blame the guys for leaving.

If some kind of insurance can be made available through LSU or privately then I have to think that a player pretty much owes it to the team to make sure that he wont leave the team in a huge bind at his position without him being a top pick. Being a top pick trumps everything else though.

I guess that it just drives me a little batty watching those two losses and knowing that they would have turned out very different with Freak on the DL. Props to the staff for developing those youngsters as quickly as they have though. No other team could have survived those early departures and only have two losses with a team that might run the table from here on out even though they are facing Bama next week.
