Looking like the 2011-2012 team to me:
Baker = Hamilton
Wright = Turner
Cook = Hickey
Hayes = Stringer
Fountain = JOB
Wilkinson = Warren
Hannibal = Bass
Reed = White
Ward = Courtney
Chest = Ludwig (worst case)
Williams = Isaac
And when we find a 7ft walkon = Del Piero

I agree. The vitriol thrown at MM was mostly from those Wade sycophants. I was a Wade fan but he's gone. So now I'm a MM fan but mostly an LSU fan. MM came into a difficult situation and deserved a couple of years to get a foundation set. he deserved some criticism but what he was getting was outright hatred. No established coach was coming here and he brought what players he could at the time. I too expect some improvement the second year and like what he is bringing together so far.

The idiots who predicted McMahon would be better than Wade are big mad they were wrong so Wade is now a criminal. Macolytes are snowflakes by nature who care about their anonymous takes here more than LSU basketball.

Maybe? But we have no clue really until next season.

quote:

he got a wing that can shoot in Jordan Wright (only 31% this year, but 43% and 35% the years prior)

Still trying to figure out why everyone is shitting on Miller's percentages and acting like Wright is a massive upgrade. As a freshman Miller shot 35% from 3 and coming off an injury shot 31%. Both the exact same numbers Wright had in various seasons.

Yeah he will bring experience and may fit the system better. But shite their efg% is almost identical for both last year and their careers.

I was all in on CMM when he arrived, what he did to get a ball club together. He got 2 top 100 freshmen and a slew of portals. He got Miller, Malawi, and Justice to stay and I thought this amazing. Then the season started and I knew the schedule wasn’t particularly difficult but LSU beat WF, barely lost to K St on a bad call, beat Arkansas, and got nipped by Kentucky in the last minutes. This guy is good I thought and Then the freaking bottom fell out. 14 Straight SEC losses and CMM looked like he had NO answer, No Energy, No Emotion, No Nothing, like he was over his head. I will hold my breath until he wins and as a former player and fan of basketball until he wins the way you know they’re pretty good not 9-1 with Meh behind it. I got fooled once but he’ll have to go above and beyond to make people believe he’s got what it takes. LSU other sports WILL NOT make it easy, Baseball #1, WBB Natty, and SEC West Champs all in year 1 or 2 of each Coaches tenure. The Road is going to be tough but HELL!! he’s getting paid plenty to do The Job he signed up for.

Odd isn’t it? Just like last spring every player he signs is an upgrade from the previous season then the games start and all of the sudden it’s “muh he just doesn’t have any talent, it’s Wade’s fault, muh 5 year rebuild.” But don’t ask them to admit their hypocrisy even in the face of their own posts. These threads were reposted all season and those people just ignored it.

I am not holding my breath. I am waiting for results.

I do hope to improve my seats this year because of the poor showing last year. That is as positive as I can be.

Do you believe, if Wade was not fired, we would be in this situation?
IMO, we would have made the tournament last season and fans would be bitching because we didn't make the Final 4.

The poster you’re responding to argued for the past 2 seasons under Wade that LSU should be making the final 4 at least once every 4 years and the sweet 16 every year or he should be fired. Now the same person is saying that 5/6 SEC wins is a good season. These people are as phony as it gets.

I mean last year he had a top 15 combined class (transfer + high school) and we were the worst team in the SEC. Our class this year is ranked way lower so its very hard have any optimism...

Was that just a garbage ranking or did he destroy their potential? I don't know. This year should tell us.

Didn't he use his wife's bank account to pay for recruits? That's pretty damn illegal.

Jesus Christ with the excuses. Lets do a comparison and see

Top 17 recruiting rankings from last year

1. Duke 27-9
2. Arkansas 22-14
3. Alabama 31-6
4. Kansas 28-8
5. Kentucky 22-12
6. Texas 29-9
7. USC 22-11
8. Ohio St. 16-19
9. Tennessee 25-11
10. IU 23-12
11. Illinois 20-13
12. Michigan 18-16
13. UCLA 31-6
14. UVA 25-8
15. FSU 9-23
16. TTU 16-16
17. LSU 14-19

Only 3 others on here stick out. But none of them finished dead last in their conference.
