Question for those who follow in the media more than I do. Who are the best follows and most informed on the team these days? Thanks fellas.

Are any players hurt/out tonight or is everyone available?
Reed was noticeably hobbled in the exhibition game and exited late in the game, but he’s still recovering from last year and getting back into it. Zipper didn’t play at all in the exhibition game and I’m still curious as to why.

Much improved roster, I think this will be a team fighting for 18 or 19 wins hoping for 10 or 11 seed in the tournament.

That seems like a stretch but I like the optimism . I felt this way going into last year only to have my hopes crushed as soon as we started SEC play. Apathy has set in and I’m assuming we’re going to beat up on a bunch of nobodies pre sec play then get our shite pushed in starting in January. Hope I’m wrong but I’m not getting my hopes up again

November is usually the best time to be an LSU MBB fan.

I think this is his best roster he's had. In my opinion,

PG play will be much improved, but not retaining V. Miller & Chest will hurt.

Looking forward to the start of the last year of the McMahon error!

You can say a lot about McMahon's tenure, but at least he can spell "era".

They need to beat everyone in non-con aside from Texas Tech for me to take them seriously. If McMahon can’t make the tournament this year he’s gone

If I see sloppy turnovers out the gate I’m out early this year. There’s nothing worse than watching these McMahon teams fumble the ball all over the court and look like they’ve never dribbled a basketball in their life. It’s the most infuriating, embarassing shite ever

We only had 15 turnovers in the exhibition game.

Yep. Improvement from last season doesn't = good or success. It would mean LSU isn't among the worst 1/3 of teams among major conference programs.

No. He needs to squarely make the tournament THIS YEAR

I don't even think that will be enough. The powers that be made a hard push to get rid of McMahon (for Wade) at the end of last season. The two people who saved him, Tate and Woodward, are now gone.

IMO, he needs to firmly make the Tournament (not back into one of the "play-in games) AND have Wade underperform to stave off a push from the same parties to get Wade back.

Do yourself a favor. Don't look at the UCF boxscore

That sounds about right. McMahon has done a horrible job when it comes to coaching. I’m still pulling for his team though.

Well that's some early goal post moving from the people that hate him. Now there are stipulations on how he makes the tournament? It's simple make the tournament and he stays another year, get left out and find a new job. Play in, 10 seed, 11 seed does not matter. It's as white or black as you will ever see it for a coach

I have really gotten to the point where I am going to try my hardest to ignore who is on the sidelines. Pull hard for the players and hope they can come through with at least competitive and entertaining games. The SEC will be strong again and it will be very tough to win an away game so, yes we will have our losses. Just like to watch well played basketball, few fouls and turnovers, move the ball around with good passes. If we do this then the wins will come. Probably not enough to save McMahon but the focus should be on the players not him.

He’s barely noticeable as is, it’s not very difficult to not notice him in the coaches box.

Also, I don’t think the SEC will be as strong this year as last season. Florida already lost, Auburn got taken to OT by a SWAC team, both were final four teams last season and UF won the championship.

It’s just November and I’m notorious for saying “November basketball” lol, but I don’t think the conference will be as strong this season.

I won’t be there in person (as I live in Florida now) but will be watching on TV. I didn’t keep up with this offseason heavily so I’ll be going in with no expectations (and no disappointment).

I’m not sold that this team is better on paper than our team last year. We will see.
