Yea MBB draws profit because of tv deal.

If baseball gets a good tv deal it would always turn a profit even in championship seasons which cause it to not be use of the travel cost to Omaha

College baseball won't ever get a lucrative deal. Across the country, hardly anyone watches it.

Why? Sick of paying coaches millions to sit on their arse. Make him at least work for it.

You sound like Tigernomics, lol. It’s not our money. It’s up to Verge and LSU to convince the donors it’s time to replace McMahon. I’m not doubting Verge after what he did with Kiffin. I realize we can’t make the same type of home run hire as football, but we should be able to hire much better than 14-50 in SEC play.

The revenue report that came out last month shows the MBB team in the black despite how crappy it is.

The women’s team lost $7m despite success.

Translation: it doesn’t matter from a revenue standpoint if the team is successful they still turn a profit from SEC revenue.

Let McMahon go at his contract expiration

Maybe they're just trying to purge all of the old basketball fans out.

So does football because of TV. Maybe we should just get shitty coaches at basement prices and spend zero on NIL. Cause we could still be in the black? Right? Dude come on

We've had several good technical basketball coaches that didn't succeed here because of the fickleness of LSU MBB fans, or the lack of their existence.

The idea of punishing a coach by making him "work" just doesn't fly. With a guaranteed contract, a coach can put in as many hours or as few hours as they want. I am not saying McMahon is one, but some of these head coaches hardly work at all. The University of Texas had a former basketball coach, Tom Penders, who was known as Hollywood Tom because he was always partying. While the assistant coaches and players were at practice, Penders would be in a bar knocking down drinks. If he was ever needed everyone knew where he was. So how hard these coaches work is pretty much left up to them.

he is either lazy or a moron.

Even a moron can get effort, so I give soft and lazy. Obviously an awful talent evaluator.

That’s all TV contracts. LSU WBB outdraws MBB by a long shot. I can see these revenue streams evening out next time TV contracts are renewed.
