I can agree with this somewhat. How do you know Brennan couldn't blow the doors off Auburn as well? My point,he has done nothing to lose the job even though TJ looks more poised at the position.

I am of the strong belief the cream with rise to the top.

Of course you couldn't know this for sure but in this hypothetical scenario (That We blow out Auburn and TJ looks awesome again doing it) if I'm coach I say Brennan played well but the team overall didnt vs MISS state Mizzou and vs USC and Auburn TJ performed well and the entire team did also and there is likely some intangibles, or winning qualities TJ possesses that Brennan may not. So I'm going with the player that the team plays best with and who gives me the best chance to win. Again this is a ridiculous conversation right now as Auburn might just run the ball all over us with Tank or we just squeak by a win and everyone is happy to try to bring Back Myles for Bama.

Maybe our running game under TJ was better because the defense knew TJ was an actual threat to run and had to allocate defenders for that threat, whereas Brennan was always going to handoff.

Or maybe the coaches didn't want Brennan to run because there wasn't a backup on the bench with any experience. At least he finished the game and gave the staff a week (actually 2) to prepare the freshman. Hopefully this will open the RPO for Brennan to showcase himself more.

Nobodys allowed to say rpo. If your not positive you know what it means (you dont) then dont use it. It has absolutely nothing to do with a quarterback running.

One of the few positives from this season so far. The days of no passing attack at LSU are over finally.

MB did nothing thus far to move him to the bench when healthy.

You're not wrong, and I generally believe that you don't lose your job due to injury. But, at some point the back up has to be able to play their way into the starting job.

If Finley lights it up against Auburn and Brennan is healthy moving forward, I say open the QB competition back up in earnest going into the bye. Let the best man win.

40 times I found posted are:

Brennan - 4.99
Finley - 4.85

A running QB in LSU's system isn't about running away from anybody. The QB doesn't need to scramble 40 yards. 3-5 yards is all that is usually needed for the first down. Any longer and you're typically better off throwing it up or throwing it away.

If Finley doesn’t struggle this weekend and we win, what I’m most worried about is the effect on the team and Brennan. How will Brennan look knowing he’s a couple of picks away from getting pulled? How will the team react if Brennan struggles against Bama and doesn’t get pulled? That’s when things can get bad.

Also, how will Brennan play after getting seriously injured? That can have an impact on some qbs

You play the best player period. Saban benched his starter in the NC, and put in a true freshman - his name was Tua.
