If anybody in his fmily circle including Max thought he would be the starter this year he would still be here...

Just watched footage on YouTube. Kid made some great throws and had super chemistry with Boutte. I think he would’ve been our starter this year

I agree, Max was better than most people give him credit for being but he was in no way better than Nuss and he knew it. Which is why he hit the transfer portal as soon as the regular season ended. As he knew he would inevitably lose his starting job to Nuss.

Well, it’s pretty clear he wasn’t going to welcome the competition. And I’m sure he felt like the fan base had turned on him. Not sure that’s true. Either way it’s not going to be easy for him at A&M either but I think he probably feels less scrutiny.

I am glad I will not be reminded every game his dad is Brad Johnson, a SB winning QB.

If he was so good, why did he leave? Now he is tiger bait…

So it took one of the best WR in football to make him look good, did I read that right?

holy shite. this was 3rd & 2 from the 15 when we were down by 7. What a stupid play.

Boutte's stats from that game: 9 rec, 148 yds, 3 TDs
Can't wait to see him go off this yr

He was better in 2020 than 2021. New OC was out of his depth

I know the spring game kinda fired some people up about nuss, but make no mistake, it will still be a huge surprise if nuss is the starter.

Myles is a safe choice and his maturity impressed kelly. That’s the type qb you need to run an offense that nobody has ran before, on our team.
If you listen to Kelly , I think he likes Brennan because he just makes the right decisions and reads

This board basically hates everyone, go read the comments when Joe burrow transferee.

Nobody and I mean nobody hates on LSU and it’s coaches and players more than LSU fans. We are the worst

I dont give a single frick about max johnson nor do I believe he would have held onto the starting job this year. The latter is debatable.

Yes, he will go down in history as the only quarterback to try a behind the back pass.

Johnson was good on the intermediate passing game. Struggled on deep balls and checking it down. Most of the time it was Boutte or bust. Took a lot of sacks, but we should have utilized his legs more on straight runs.

He wasn’t bad especially if he’s behind a not totally shite oline

But his decision making wasn’t great and his ability to really get it down the field vertically was limited. Also left handed QBs always give me the heebie jeebies

He was tough though. Last drive of the aggy game for example
