Max Johnson was better than this board gives him credit for.

Just watched footage on YouTube. Kid made some great throws and had super chemistry with Boutte. I think he would’ve been our starter this year

So let the downvotes commence.

It was hard to judge him last year with Peetz calling bad plays, our O-line issues and no stud WR after Boutte got hurt. He was a tough QB, but seemed to regress as the year went on with his accuracy and not getting rid of the ball. But again, the coaching was poor, so it wasn't all his fault.

I can agree with this. We had a horrible line last year, barely a pulse of a running game and he still made some big plays. With that said, no one is winning any sort of chmapionship with Max Johnson at quarterback

LSU is better off without him.

You bet he is. He is a tough competitor and plays to win. He had some problems, like not knowing when to unload the ball. But more than likely, as an upperclassman, he will work through these. And the sh*tshow that was LSU football these last two years, is no fire that anyone wants to be baptized in.

His third year, yeah he will probably be better. I doubt he would start for LSU. Probably fourth, maybe fifth.
He is better off at A&M and so are we , IMO.

He also held on to the ball way to long knowing his o line was hot garbage

Max lead us to our two worst seasons since the 90’s. Hard to say he was great.

I think he got fair credit. Was much better than what we use to have…

He left. No chest. Moving on.

The dude is struggling to even start at TAMU. No he would not. He hits his ceiling his freshman year he's simply limited physically for the SEC and an average game managing QB. Nothing wrong with that. Is what it is.
