Johnson was a fair to decent QB but with a pretty well defined ceiling. But to win big, you have to be a good to great QB. I dont care if Max couldve led us to 9-3 or what ever, THere is no difference in that and 8-4 which is what every other QB on the roster can do, but we stand the chance at one of em being good to great and leading us to better.

Max Johnson was not better than this board gave him credit for. I wish he was and I pulled hard for him, but he was not the guy here. You can't possibly believe he would start over who he have now if he was here... right?

Max was instrumental in our win over A&M last year.

I hope that he is instrumental in our win over A&M this year.

I thought he had serious potential 2 years ago. Last year convinced me that he was not the answer. I liked the kid a lot and maybe it was bad coaching/schemes or whatever, but he really wasn't going to flourish here after last season. I wish him the best though.

What we saw in Johnson the last 2 years was his ceiling.

His lack of overall arm strength will not allow him to exceed what he did the last 2 years.

That's why he's a back up at Texas 8&4?

I think Brennan will make us forget all about Johnson this year.

So you believe Brennan is going to stay for the remainder of the season and be the backup to Nuss?

I actually read your entire WOT. Most of it is a reasonable opinion to consider. You ruined it with your last sentence. If you think Brian Kelly is going to let one player on the team choose his quarterback for him, well......

So according to you, Brian Kelly is going to name Brennan the starter just to piss his best lethal weapon in the wide receiver room off to teach him who is the boss, as opposed to playing the best QB on the team.

Seek mental help, you flake.

Better how? Miles is the clear leader in the locker room and makes the better decisions with the ball. Does he have the strongest arm....no.

Max Johnson is what he is, an arm strength limited reasonably athletic QB that does some pretty dumb shite. I will give him this, he took a beating behind some pretty mediocre lines, but also held on to the ball.

Did you watch the spring game? Myles is not the clear leader in the locker room as Nussmeier actually has a better relationship with all the players relative to Myles, and as for as making better decisions on the football field goes, Nuss not only makes far better decisions relative to Myles, but he is also far more talented relative to Myles at the same time.

In fact, in the spring game, Nuss was the only QB in the QB competition to score on all four of his four possessions. Not only that, but he moved the ball down the field far faster and far smoother than the other two QBs as well. Plus he also completed several NFL level throws that Myles and Daniels can only dream of throwing in their wildest wet dreams.

Meanwhile, Daniels scored on only two of his five possessions and Myles scored on only two of his five possessions.

However, on the last score Myles is credited with, he badly under threw the ball that under normal circumstances would have been intercepted or knocked down, as opposed to miraculously being knocked into the waiting hands of Malik Nabers by Sage Ryan. Hence, take away that lucky score and Myles was the worse QB in the spring game.

Apparently, you don't care about playing the best QB on the team who more than earned the job because you feel emotionally that Myles is entitled to be the starter because he paid his dues the longest.
