Its gonna be max.

He just has better touch and pocket presence. We will get 2 solid years from him.

I get the feeling Brennan and Max are 1A and 1B still right now. Feel like the rant will be saying put in Max after every Brennan stalled drive/int this year or vice versa. Hopefully one pulls away and we have a clear starter by August

Except when he literally carried the fricking team last year through his first three starts. While having a torn abdomen muscle in one of those games.

Brennan has the it factor. I like Johnson, and I think he’s going to go down as one of the best to ever do it at LSU. But Brennan, if given a chance, will do the same.

Either way it’s extremely too close to call and just knight Max as the starter after this scrimmage. I’m just excited of how stacked we are regardless of what happens

I keep seeing this statement. Please explain how having 2 QBs who can play in the SEC, a true freshman who is definitely not ready to play, and another QB who cannot move the team and is turnover prone is “stacked”?

Why was that TD to Boutte called back didn’t catch the penalty

Max looked just ok with the 1s. He tore it up with the 2s by picking on Davis with a senior receiver. The numbers are a little deceptive, but Brennan was significantly better with the 1s.

His only TD was on a trick play where he faked spiking the ball.

Very vanilla out there too with the offense. The real question is who can handle the entire playbook best.

This, right here, is why I don't give a crap about spring results. I'm not saying people can't get excited about it if that suits their fancy, but there is just absolutely nothing to glean from how guys perform in a watered down playbook, with no threat of being hit, and no pressure of having actual consequences for any mistakes.

Sure, you want to perform well to impress the coaches, but some guys are practice warriors who can't perform when it matters, and some struggle to mentally engage in a practice environment, but rise to the moment when it matters. It's just a big crapshoot.

We've seen Myles and Max play in actual games, and both did well at times, and not so well at others. Nothing that happens now is going to change my mind. We'll see who separates themselves when the season starts. I know the off season is all about speculation, but I'm over that. Les' years of hyping guys who never did anything burned my interest in off season hype.

Brennan will be the starter. Johnson backup and Finley transfers. If you name Johnson starter then Brennan leaves along with Finley and you have a true freshman as your backup. They don’t want that. See last season

THAT was an underthrow. Chase bailed him out.

That was an intentional underthrow. Burrow sees the DB with his back turned, and throws it up soft. It works like a back shoulder throw on a shorter sideline route.

I think he looked the best of the 4. The only 2 plays I noticed where he could have been better were 2 of his scramble left plays. There was a little pressure but not enough to escape the pocket. Stepping up and keeping his eyes downfield, while sensing and eluding the pressure with small adjustments in the pocket, would have been the better decision. He’s young and those adjustments will come in time.

Carried the team to a solid 1-2 record.

The “it” factor to lead a 1-2 team apparently.

Meanwhile Max Johnson has the “it” factor to knock off top 10 Florida in the swamp as a true freshman.

Myles couldn’t bail us out from TROY as a true freshman

Sick of this shite. We should celebrate Brennan for waiting. But he’s never put in the effort to be a star QB.

As close as Myles and Max are at this point, THIS is the decision Coach O needs to make if he is indeed going to act like a true "CEO" of LSU. The QB issue boils down to a logistics/resource problem, and how best to solve it. This is the best (and right) decision Coach O can make.

Give GN a year or so...he has that it factor. Finley may as well transfer.

So GN who is 1 year younger than Finely should get the benefit of 2 years, but Finely who has only been here one year and has SEC experience should transfer? Some of yall just cant help yourselves can you.

Has not improved since his first game.

IF GN starts three games next year, regresses, I'll have the same attitude for him.

Furthermore you are talking about guys who are and will be less than 2 years removed from high school. Then you fools wonder where players get this stupid advice to transfer.

Finley needs to stay through this season AND next season. He would still have 2 or 3 years of eligibility left depending how the two seasons go.
But he’s got top notch competition and coaching at LSU. He needs to stay, compete and develop as much as possible.
Injuries do not discriminate, and if they were to happen to starting QB, we’d all wish Finley was here. Not to mention, with some improvement, and some stagnation with the other guys, he could very easily become the best QB.
