It’s obvious to say this season has been a train wreck, but wasn’t this foreseeable? I for one did not expect the Murray State level of players to succeed here in the SEC.
I know a majority of fans want him fired and replaced with Chris Beard. *for the record this will not happen, Woodward refused to hire Pat Casey…arguably Beard is a worse PR nightmare*
I just wonder if (pending recruits) he can turn the ship around. He was a decent coach at Murray St…and no one forgets how to coach over night.
He doesn’t have the talent…maybe he needs time?

No one expected it to be this bad. No one. I don't think anyone thought we'd be competing for the conference title or anything, most thought middle of the pack, or if we'd be below that we'd be at least competitive in most games and just fall short in a lot of them. No one thought this was a dead last in the conference team or a team that would look uncompetitive in as many games as we have.
He's going to get 3 years imo. I'm resigned to that. I would love to see him turn it around but

Murray St has had a lot of coaches succeed there, they're the premier program of the Ohio Valley. Most of them haven't panned out when they took on bigger jobs. This was one of my fears when he was first hired.
He's getting 2 more years whether any of us like it or not with his contract. I 100% hope he rights the ship in that time because I want our team to win and be fun to follow. I haven't seen any signs that inspire confidence in that regard though.

Rewind to tRant after the firing of Wade & decommits. Everyone with sense knew it would be bad. We only got excited because McMahon was able to field a team.

It wasn't just LSU fans, a lot of MBB fans and pundits outside the LSU fandom thought the guys we were bringing in could keep us at least in the middle of the SEC. Not dead last. Turns out they, as well as us, were all wrong. If MM was such a good Xs and Os coach he should have them playing better than they are at least, because he's not fielding a D2 level roster or anything like that either. I can acknowledge that he wasn't handed a stacked deck and was gonna have to work to play his hand, but I don't subscribe to the notion that what we've seen in SEC play this year is the best that can be gotten out of this roster. I just don't. And that ultimately falls on coaching.
We'll see what happens with the roster next year. The current recruiting prospects are not good. There's always the transfer portal again, but don't be surprised to see guys bail on this team as well when the portal opens up.

Why on Earth would think you could zero out a roster and recruiting class, then rebuild in March to finish middle of the pack in the SEC???
Do you think that half of the SEC isn't even trying? What an ignorant group of idiots you are to think that you can zero out a program and compete with the best teams in the country.

These are my thoughts as well. I want CMM to succeed, but for anyone who has watched this SEC slate and followed recruiting to this point I don't see how there can't be concerns.

Pat Casey was not getting hired because Pat Casey had just retired and want leaving the northwest anyway.

Just Mcmen making up things. Casey was never gonna be hired the dude is 100 and a west coast small ball coach.
Also letting pedos play is a much worse pr issue than a drunken fight with the gf.
Scott isn’t gonna hire beard though because Forde and dickie v would be mean again. Once we fire MM in 5 years we will let the ghost of dickie v force us to hire lil Ricky.
