Never understood the hire in the first place. Could watch 10 minutes of highlights and see this was nothing special. Just LSU’s older offense with some motion.

I never liked his ridiculous offense. He did however manage to out gain Alabama in total yards, and put up points. So there’s that.

But not necessarily for this reason. I don’t think he is the “best” OC in the country. He may have been the best available at the time, maybe not. I can’t remember who was available. He was definitely not the right fit for us. One of the main reasons was nit being a good personality fit. That is where poor judgement comes in. I think that, if that weren’t the case, he could’ve stuck around longer and we would’ve seen his offense flourish a bit more.

That's a little much, but his offense was highly efficient in that one year here. We let him leave and replaced him with a guy who was objectively worse.

Hadn't Canada just won the award for top offensive coordinator in the country when we hired him? Then Coach O refers to him in this regard and you say Coach O has poor judgement - maybe it's you that has poor judgement. O at least recognized that it wasn't the right fit and fired him. Not every decision works out perfectly.

Can't believe O hired an OC who would be out of work just one season later. Oh well, on the bright side, the guy did score more points against Bama in two quarters than O and E have in eight.
