Peter Burns asked Spears if he knew LSU would go 6-6, but they finally beat Bama, would he take that.
He said he would. “pun intended, it’s the elephant in the room”
As sick as losing to them consistently makes me, I can’t take 6–6, but beating Bama.
I need 10+ wins and competing for the SECCG.
What says tRant?
ETA: is it really that hard to understand the way it was presented?
Example : you could win the lottery, but you lose your legs. Would you take it?
Some people are putting way too much thought into it.

I like spears as a person, but he makes some outlandish remarks that make him look foolish(probably doing it on purpose). If we go 6-6 that chances of one of the 6 wins coming against bama is low. Also, if we beat bama the chances of us having 6 wins is pretty high. .

its a formula to placate losers.This is about LSU and the quality of its program.

6 - 6 = wholesale changes from AD down to every coach (with the exception of Aranda) and probably most every position coach. Not to mention an absolute nuclear meltdown on this board.

I think it depends on whether you view 6-6 with a Bama win to boot as a sign of progress or mediocrity with some luck thrown in.
I suspect that the melt in advance of a 6th win (over Bama) would be great. To that point, we would be a 4 or 5 team up to that point. Would O even make it to the Bama game would be the greater question?

He's an LSU alum and a former great player. But that doesn't exempt him from being a moron. His commentary, on anything, has little substance. That's contrary to McFarland has substance behind his opinions (even if I disagree with some of them)

I'm just not seeing it. Florida, A&M and Arkansas will likely be better. But THAT much better in year one?
Yes, there are significant question on offense. Yes, until he ever does anything of note, no one will give Ogeron the benefit of doubt. But I still think the defense will be very good and more than good enough to keep LSU in every game. And if they are beating Bama, it means the offense was good enough to score points on the best defense in the league...but somehow not able to do so against FAR weaker defenses? That doesn't make sense

If we go 6 and 6, it means we would probably have lost 4-5 games prior to the Alabama game. If that happen, very few people would even watch the Alabama-LSU game.

6-6 with an upset win against Bama would be worst case scenario. It would prove that O is a joke and cant coach to save his life. But enough idiots would be so happy to just beat Bama that Ed would probably end up with an extension.
Now to answer the question: Like any LSU fan, I desperately want the Tigers to beat Bama. Mainly because doing so would generally be indicative of a championship level team and by beating Bama, LSU is much more likely to win the SECW, the SEC and get into the playoff.
Since championships are the goal,I would rather lose to Bama but still manage win the SECW than beat them and still go 6-6.
