Well if it’s a personal reason, it doesn’t even matter. But I don’t think he’s good enough in coverage if they’re trying to make him a LB.

He’s a hybrid safety. Playing him at inside LB makes no damn sense he’s barely 200 lbs. Coach O and Pelini need to figure it out you can’t just let one of your most talented players walk.

With all due respect to Shea, “personal reasons” can become more of an issue when you don’t like how things are playing out on the field for you. Yes, he was getting PT as a freshman but he is a tweener that isn’t the size of a starting linebacker

Just put the dude on the edge and let him get 10+ sacks on passing downs and be done with it. If this is all about positions, I don’t know if I’m more aggravated with Marcel or the coaches.

It certainly fricking sucks to lose talent like this but with us moving to a completely different scheme in a 4-3 expected casualties. Wasn’t expecting Brooks but I mean he’s thinking about not just a 1 down player but an every down player in the NFL.
I hope to shite he doesn’t end up in the sec.

man some of yall are being ridiculous. We just lost a ton of guys on defense.. and losing a guy who played a lot as a true freshman sucks.. bad. That sack vs florida was HUGE. I really liked him as a player. Hate to see this news. He was gonna be a stud no matter where he played. But yes losing a top 40 player who was #2 at his position out of highschool is no big deal...
