That's the case every 4 years

Doesn't change the fact that the Orange Bowl itself has been one of the shittiest bowls (even if you include the godaddy.com bowl) in the lineup consistently.

The entire deal is a mess/joke. The SEC a victim of it's own success I guess.

Here LSU fans are hoping to get into the cotton bowl against a team that is ranked outside the top 25 - as a "best case scenario".

Orange bowl decline has much to do with the decline of the ACC.

This just changes the opponent to a more favorable OU, IMO.

Why is everyone upset?

Shouldn't affect LSU.

Lots of rumors going around that if OU drops out of the BCS to the cotton bowl, A&M would be the team they would pick to face them.

I only saw one that was from an A&M source.

And, even then, I would think the Cotton Bowl would be overly diplomatic in their handling of an LSU selection over an in-state school.

So, a rumor of this sort could easily be propagated by someone who is PR savvy.

The only thing keeping aTm out of the game was Texas throwing a hissy fit about playing them. Now that Texas is out, politics are less involved.

Yeah I don't think it was so much a big 12 matchup as it was a Texas - Texas A&M matchup that they didn't want.
