as in a foregone conclusion that he would have multiple concussions if he got 1 more at all? Now that's ridiculas.

I defer to GeauxBob's and the opinions ofother medical professionals. It seems to me that if he isn't completely recovered he is susceptible to more concussions when playing a violent contact sport like football.

wow, so insurance companies are always right? Didn't he take that policy out prior to the season dipshit? I am pretty sure he did.

That is irrelevant to this specific instance.

I'm just saying, it's premature to blast to blast Meyer when he hasn't stated at all that Tebow will start.

That's fair but I think GeauxBob said if he plays then...

If he plays, knock the hell out of him. Clean and aggressive hits and blitzes. I am really sick of these stupid comments like if he's cleared.

This would be FOOTBALL.

It kind of reeks of gamesmanship, though, don't you think? Most reasonable people with a smattering of medical knowledge (or even common sense) know that TT shouldn't play tonight. Yet the UF machine keeps dangling this possibility out there, to stoke the hype and shift people's focus. He won't play, the whole thing is a ruse, IMO.

For real, if they're serious at all about his future, there shouldn't even be a question. He should wear his gator polo shirt and sit on the sidelines tonight.

Gatorspiff, I think its silly for them to even act likt eht kid is going to play at all, but if he ends up not playing, its fine.

I also have little faith that Meyer would do the right thing for a kid. The man is a total douche and has proven so through the years. It's not like he's trying to keep Tebow healthy for next season since he's a senior.

Anyhow, the fact that they are even claiming he might play is ridiculous following the type of concussion he had.

But my entire premise of this topic is IF he plays as previously said. In the end, Tebow's health should be what matters.

Always trust the insurance company for medical recommendations.

Good grief. Gator fans really are dumb.

BTW, if he plays, Tebow will probably be okay, but I would hate to be on that gator staff if something bad happens.

What? What are you talking about? If Tebow gets seriously injured today he will walk away with $3 million from Lloyd's of London because they cleared him to play...

Yes PJ, its an outlandish claim, but Meyer has shown a propensity to care more about winning games than being a leader and father figure to his players with several needing discipline, but magically escaping it when big games came around.

That being said, he's not that stupid to risk someone's health, or at least i hope he's not.

He said it's a game time decision. Why would he rule out Tebow if doctors said he has a chance to play? So far he has done what every coach in america would do.

Some people just read too far into these things imo.

I am pretty sure the policy was A) taken out before the season, and B) is up to his doctors in this case. Also, where is there ANY published and reputable source stating the insurance company has cleared him?

The bottom line is that ITS NOT MEYER'S choice. IF the doctors clear him then I would play him. Its the best chance for victory. A Smart coach would do that.

A game time decision? So what like last night he could have been dizzy or had headaches and today he is all better?

There will eventually be a NCAA rule on this watch and see ....

GatorSpiff, I guess my issue is just with the way this is honestly being handled on a bigger level than just this game. It just sets a bad example for kids who get hurt like this and then are like Tebow came back after 2 weeks and he was knocked out cold. Just because you are asympotmatic doesn't mean the risk goes away or that you are fully healthy. I just think it is VERY important to err on the side of caution with these types of injuries because they are not only career threatening, but life threatening.

Edited to add: even asymptomatic for one week does not mean your are healed.

the stupidity started way before today...when you have a 28 pt. lead against a weak kentucky team, why leave him in? the only one to blame is meyer...he's worse than bob stoops when it comes to running up the score on weak opponents...he gets what he deserves.

I just don't see why LoL would clear him to play unless they knew for certain they wouldn't have to cash a 7 digit check to Tebow...
