re: Tebow's pass for the touchdown

that sort of tugging happens all the time.

go back and watch the play, the reason there was so much separation was because your CB sat on the route after the tug and Cooper kept running.
tell Oklahoma that :moon:
So when as a head coach do you throw away the expert advice of a team of top medical professionals and form your own opinion of the appropriate thing to do?

I'm sure Meyer, who to my knowledge didn't go to medical school, is listening closely to what the doctors are saying and will make the right choice.
I understand everyone's point, but Meyer has stated that the decision will be up to doctors.

Is that not the right example?

I suppose the issue is that he said it will be a gametime decision although making it clear it's up to doctors? I can see the argument, but I don't think it's a bad example. The message is clear, UF will not be jeopardizing the health of their players.

who gets married during football season? :banghead:
Very kind words GeauxBob.

I just hope that "cleared" means more than just able.

If you really want to see stupidity, look no further than Nick Saban pretty much permanently damaging Ben Wilkerson's career by keeping him in late in the 4th quarter of a secured win against Vandy AT HOME!

Or how about Prothro's broken leg late in the 4th quarter against UF a few years back? that was a shame, the kid had endless amount of potential and the injury devastated his season.
GeauxBob, I agree with you for the most part. Head injuries are different on a case to case basis and never has Meyer, or anyone for that matter stated that Tebow would be played if not 100% cleared and deemed fit to play without being at a higher risk.

I agree though, this is bigger than Tebow and this game. The kid's health is at stake and we all hope the correct decision is made.

Gatorspiff, I think its silly for them to even act likt eht kid is going to play at all, but if he ends up not playing, its fine.

He said it's a game time decision. Why would he rule out Tebow if doctors said he has a chance to play? So far he has done what every coach in america would do.

Some people just read too far into these things imo.

That's fair but I think GeauxBob said if he plays then...

re: Field Conditions

Posted by GatorSpiff on 10/10/09 at 11:30 am to
i don't ever recall terrible field conditions at LSU, they seem to have good drainage.

FSU however, can't drain the crap fast enough.
Don't get me wrong, I only want to see Tebow play if he's 100% and isn't at higher risk than he would have been before the injury.

I'm just saying, it's premature to blast to blast Meyer when he hasn't stated at all that Tebow will start.

Meyer has said repeatedly that it's up to the team of doctors and won't make a decision until he gets word from them. It's the media that has eluded to Tebow playing.
Sorry, I trust the team of doctors working with Tebow much more than the medical opinions made without assessing the patient/tests/recovery and instead basing said opinions on published reports that are shotty at best and lack any real substance.

We've yet to find out if Tebow will even play, we'll find out tonight when the offense takes the field.
there sure are a lot of doctors on this board.

everyone knows Tigers can't read =P
or do what most UT/UGA fans do... leave in the middle of the 3rd quarter when they're already down by 30

That's unfortunate. He's truly a good guy and very entertaining. I had the opportunity to meet him after Gameday in Gainesville a few years back and he's very personable.

Here's to a full recovery in the long run

Say what? Don't tell me Les Miles somehow stole Janoris Jenkins and Joe Haden from our team bus.

To answer the OP, Brantley is a hell of a QB and has all the potential in the world to be a Gator great. He has one of the best arms I've seen in college football. It's not so much that Brantely is going to come off the bench and lead UF to a title, it's that UF already has a stellar stable of running backs and a stout defense and it's that combo that gives us that confidence.

And each one has a higher ranked offense than LSU:

Charleston Southern??? #26 (FCS)
Troy #57
Tennessee #55
Kentucky #93
LSU #99

To LSU's credit, your players are much more talented, they just haven't proven it yet on the field yet. That's another x factor, both seems have underperformed this year, so which team finally breaks out? It's bound to happen.
